Silva most recently fought at UFC 78 and posted a dominating and impressive TKO of Houston Alexander. That victory came after back-to-back knockouts of Tomasz Drwal and James Irvin (due to a knee injury).
After a draw with Tito Ortiz at UFC 73, Evans headlined UFC 78 vs. Michael Bisping in the first-ever battle of winners from “The Ultimate Fighter.” Evans eeked out a split-decision victory and avoided a loss for the 12th time in 12 career fights. He’s now 6-0-1 in his UFC career.
According to a report from The Fight Network, the May 24 event could also feature a title fight between Sean Sherk, who was recently stripped of the lightweight belt, and the winner of B.J. Penn vs. Joe Stevenson fight, which awards the winner the vacant title next week at UFC 80.
