When trying to locate the Riddler's Challenges, don't try too hard too early. A lot of them are only accessible after you have progressed through the story and have unlocked more gadgets. The easiest time to try and locate these is after completing the story mode and using the same save file.
Finding the ?'s
Some of the Riddler's Challenges demand that you find a certain perspective or can only be seen from a certain spot. These are giant ?'s which can only be seen in detective mode and are much easier to find when you obtain the Secrets map for the area. When you locate the ?, you will have to move around until you find the dot which goes at the bottom of the ?. If this is not just below the rest of the image, you will get the message "solution not aligned".
