The new Wii, revealed last week, will be the same size as the current model, Official Nintendo Magazine reports. This goes against earlier information suggesting the new model Wii would be slighter in stature.

The removal of GameCube game compatibility and controller support hasn't shaved off any millimetres. What it probably has done, however, is save Nintendo some money on each unit.

Set for release later this year, the new Wii is designed to be horizontal and will ship with copies of Wii Sport and Wii Party, plus a Wii Remote Plus and a Nunchuk.
