Ewin brings experience spanning ten years against top names and marks a big step up for the Tsunami fighter as his toughest test yet. Ewin is coming off a three fight losing streak, last being defeated by Leeroy Barnes at BAMMA 9 after stepping in at a matter of days’ notice. This intriguing Middleweight match looks to flesh out into a captivating bout: Will Ewin see a return to form against a rising talent who is impossible to train for? Or will Luke Barnatt live up to his ambitions and prove himself in the next echelon of the sport?
Matt Ewin said:
“I've had a great camp for this fight. I’m feeling confident in my prep for it even though the opponent has changed. It's going to be a far more technical fight than with Noon. He's got good stand up and very, very long range. He's definitely going to be a name in the future but not right now; and this isn't going to be a good fight for him. I know what they're expecting from the fight but I've got a few more things for them this time. I'm definitely not done yet!”
Luke Barnatt said:
“Taking Matt Ewin on in 11 days’ notice is surprising to most people….Even BAMMA thought my coach was punishing me for something, but I don't see it as a step up in class. I believe the only way to be a top fighter is by testing yourself against the top and I see it as finally fighting someone at my level. Ewin is a top UK middleweight and I see myself as one too, so I jumped at the opportunity to fight him. Everyone keeps telling me Matt Ewin has fought the Who's Who of MMA. Well, I fought last weekend and beat a top European Middleweight in 4 minutes and next weekend I'm going to try to do the same in front of a packed BAMMA crowd at Wembley. Then, he'll have Luke “Bigslow” Barnatt to add to his list.”
A second injury replacement sees Jack 'Mad' Magee step into Warren Kees’s shoes to face Tom Breese. Breese is one of the UK’s most exciting Welterweight prospects. Standing undefeated with a Pro record of 4-0-0 on BAMMA , and an Amateur record of 8-00, Breese has stopped all his opponents before the third round largely via Submission. Renowned for a formidable ground game, Breese has recently been honing his stand up skills and now comes with fierce striking arsenal. New opponent, Jack Magee, is a first round Submission specialist fighting out of Gracie Fusion with a record of 7-4-0-1 and wins via an array of methods. This changes the landscape of the fight for Breese who was looking to withstand a striking barrage from Kees. Fans can expect a show of technical prowess when this fight hits the ground.
Jack Magee said:
“I feel great about the fight. I don’t know too much about my opponent, but I’ve heard he is a tough fighter who likes both stand up and ground work; and so do I, so it should be a sexy fight. It’s a pleasure to fight on BAMMA and it was a good feeling to have such a big show call me up. So, thanks to all who got this fight on.”
Tom Breese said:
"My opponent change is of no concern to me. Regardless of him, my original guy or not, the result will be the same. I respect anyone who takes a fight on such short notice and I thank Jack Magee for doing so, but in doing so he believes he is in with a chance of beating me. He thinks he has something others have not and I don’t like that. I don’t like that one bit and I will dispatch him and show him that it was not his greatest decision."
BAMMA’s VP of Talent Relations, Jude Samuel, said:
“I’m excited about both these fights. Luke is taking a very tough fight with Ewin but his team believes he has what it takes to make the step up and to be competing at the next level. The Breese vs. Magee fight brings Tom back to fighting in his strongest area, but with an opponent that can really challenge him using his own medicine and with longer experience. I expect both these fights to be compelling.”

Europe’s leading Mixed Martial Arts promotion, BAMMA, is proud to announce a Welterweight clash between Tom Breese and Warren Kee to the BAMMA 10 card at London Wembley on 15th September. The event is to be live televised on Fight Network.
Twenty year old Tom Breese is one the UK’s most exciting Welterweight prospects. The Birmingham fighter stands undefeated with a Pro record of 4-0-0 at BAMMA, in which he has stopped all his opponents before the third round; and a previous Amateur record of 8-0-0. Formidable on the ground, Breese has finished all his challengers via Submission until he stopped Mark Tucker with knees at BAMMA 9.
Barnes-Sutherland Added to BAMMA 10 in September
Europe’s leading Mixed Martial Arts promotion, BAMMA, is proud to announce Leeroy Barnes vs. Denniston Sutherland to the BAMMA 10 card for a Middleweight battle at London Wembley on 15th September.
The event is to be live televised on Fight Network.
Fan favourite and badass Twitter merchant, Leeroy Barnes, has been going from strength to strength in recent times following an impressive onslaught against British champion Jack Marshman at BAMMA 8, in which Barnes pushed the fight the full distance to a decision loss in Marshman’s favour. Barnes went on to defeat the 22-12 UK legend, Matt Ewin, at BAMMA 9 after a late replacement saw Barnes suddenly up against the dramatically more experienced opponent. As his 10-9-0 record illustrates, Barnes has never been afraid to take any fight against any opponent from early on in his career, starting out at Lightweight to eventually find his feet in the Middleweight division. His recent displays at BAMMA have demonstrated impressive development as a fighter and a mindful honing of skills and strengths with experience. From an exciting and dedicated athlete who always brings the fight and takes the risks, fans can always guarantee a tough and entertaining battle from Leeroy Barnes.
Barnes said:
"I'm really looking forward to fighting on BAMMA 10. I think this show will mark a big step for MMA in the UK with the mainstream TV deal. I know the match-maker, Jude Samuel, has worked hard to find a top class opponent for me: Denniston is definitely that, having been a UK top ten mainstay for many years and coming off a dominant victory. I'm very happy with the fight and excited to yet again show the improvements I've made in the gym and how seriously I'm taking my career. Denniston is a tough well rounded fighter and I expect a tough test but I don't believe he will be able to deal with my athleticism and skill at Middleweight. I will win this fight but the real winners will be the fans.
The more experienced Denniston 'Mad Max' Sutherland (17-8-0) is another fighter with an interesting trajectory. First falling in love with MMA when he stumbled across it once on television many years ago in Jamaica, Sutherland didn’t come across the sport again until he relocated to the UK in his thirties. Eventually finding his comfortable fight weight at Middleweight, Sutherland debuted professionally against Neil Grove at Heavyweight in 2007 demonstrating a continued and similar trait to Barnes in that he’s never backed down from a tough fight. Sutherland went on to face an army of UK talent to notch up an impressive array of wins by KO, TKO and submission and multiple UK titles. Hovering around the UK top 10 for a few years now and with losses against respectable fighters that include Tom Watson and Claudio Da Silva, Sutherland doesn’t show any sign of slowing down; and with his recent 1st round win against Brett Sizeland he certainly remains a force to be reckoned with.
Sutherland said:
“I’m really looking forward to this fight. I met Leeroy a few years ago when he was Lightweight, before Bisping fought Rashad and I went up there to train with him. I’m interested to see how much he’s changed since then. Physically he’s completely different but I don’t know if he’s technically any better. This is what I’m looking to find out’
BAMMA’s Head of Talent Relations, Jude Samuel, said:
“This fight brings together two very tough fighters who take fights for the opportunity to test their skills against hard opponents and to better themselves. Therefore these guys like to be adventurous and take risks; and neither of them are interested in a ‘safe fight’. In a landscape where fighters are increasingly under pressure to pad their records and clock up the career wins, both Barnes and Denniston embody the raw and traditional spirit of MMA. Bringing depth of experience, a rounded spectrum of skills and massive heart into the cage, I’m proud to have athletes like these representing BAMMA.”

Europe’s leading Mixed Martial Arts promotion, BAMMA, is proud to announce a Lightweight bout between Curt Warburton and Lee Wieczorek to the BAMMA 10 card at London Wembley on 15th September. The event is to be live televised on Fight Network.
Renowned Wolfslair fighter and UFC veteran, Curt Warburton has clocked up an array of notable wins on his 10-3-0 record, most famously against current UK TUF coach, Ross Pearson.
The Lightweight is poised for a dangerous challenge in Lee Wieczorek who comes with 11 wins out of 14 fights, and the UWC title to his name. With wins by KO, TKO and submissions, and with a reputation for both stopping fights and for winning on the distance, Wieczorek is set to be a threat wherever the match goes.
Wieczorek said, “Curt is a great fighter, so I expect nothing less than a war against him. I think it’s going to be a great fight and a true MMA fight, as it could take place on the feet, in the clinch or on the ground.”
Alex Burzotta, manager of Wieczorek, added: “Both Lee and I are very excited at the opportunity given to Lee by BAMMA. Lee is coming off 5 straight wins and has every intention to making it 6.”
Curt Warburton said: “"It's great to be back on a BAMMA event. The promotion is doing big things and the recent deal with Channel 5 and 5* is great for UK MMA. Lee will be a tough opponent, but I will do what I need to do in order to win this fight and hopefully challenge for the Lightweight title in the near future.
BAMMA’s Head of Talent Relations, Jude Samuel, said: “I am really fired up for this fight. We’re looking at two top class athletes who have defended their names against some of the best domestic, and indeed some top world, talent. Warburton has the more established name, as a UFC vet, but Wieczorek brings the skills and experience to really push him to the edge. This fight literally could go anywhere, but fans can expect to sit white-knuckled and at the edge of their seats as this tense, dynamic and unpredictable battle unfolds.”
