Jake Shields vs Joe Riggs on April Strikeforce show

ATO has learned through a source within Strikeforce that Jake Shields will fight Joe Riggs on April 11. The show will be televised on Showtime headlined by Nick Diaz vs. Frank Shamrock.

Shields (21-4) is one of the fighters that Strikeforce acquired after ProElite folded. He has won 11 straight fights and defeated Yushin Okami and Carlos Condit on the same night at Rumble on the Rock 9 in 2006. His most recent fight was a victory over Paul Daley on EliteXC’s nationally televised show last October.

Riggs (29-10) is UFC veteran and holds victories over Nick Diaz, Chris Lytle, and Kendall Grove. He fought 4 times last year and went 2-2 . He is 6-4 in his last ten fights. In 2004 Riggs fought 9 times he lost the first fight then proceeded to win 8 straight fights

I interviewed Jay Heiron today and he is under the impression he may be offered this fight............. :shock:
