Anderson Silva: "Chute Boxe is a dead love"
Brasil Combate sat down with the middleweight champion Anderson Silva for a frank conversation. Contrary to what Dana White said yesterday at the press conference of UFC 103, Anderson assures he is in perfect physical conditions and there’s nothing wrong to put off his fights still this year.
Spider also talked about the re-approach with Wanderlei Silva, former Chute Boxe mate, “we were at the same restaurant and changed some ideas. It was nice, thanks goodness everything is OK”.
Check the entire talking in which Anderson reminds his Chute Boxe times and much more.
Brasil Combate: Anderson, Dan Henderson has been calling out you are afraid of fighting him. What do you have to say to him?
Anderson Silva: “Look, I think people want to fight against the champion. They want to beat me and are training for this while I train no to be beaten. Then I haven’t got much to say, right? People can say what they want. I’m keeping training and if it is to fight him or whoever may be I will train and go there”.
Brasil Combate: It was reported that you would undergo an elbow surgery and wouldn’t fight in 2009 anymore. After the news Ed Soares refuted all of them. What’s the truth about this fact? Do you intend to fight this year?
Anderson Silva: “Well (laughing a lot) I don’t know nothing about it at all. I wonder if they hurt me (laughing more). I am 200%. There’s no injury. UFC can match my fight. I’m ready”.
Brasil Combate: Randy Couture has stated he would like to face you. How do you feel for his comment since he is a legend of the UFC in all times.
Anderson Silva: “It’s hard to say. It’s tough fight for me. I don’t have what to say. I feel myself proud”.
Brasil Combate: Dana White daydreams to put on you versus Lyoto Machida in which would be one of the best fights of light heavyweight division in all times.
Would you face your friend if the money talks loud or this possibility won’t exist at all?
Anderson Silva: “This fight will never happen because besides we’re friends, we train together and Lyoto is like a brother. It won’t happen. That’s impossible”.
Brasil Combate: In case of Nate Marquardt and Dan Henderson come to fight, who will win this fight?
Anderson Silva: “Let’s wait the fight takes place and expect a winner and after that we will see what happens. As I told you, I’m training to take the best ones. I’m ready for all of them”.
Brasil Combate: MMA fans are very glad you and Wanderlei Silva are closer. Is there the possibility for you train together like in the past times you were Chute Boxe athletes?
Anderson Silva: “Chute Boxe is past, like a dead love. That was a great team that formed excellent champions. I owe too much for Chute Boxe school. Regarding to Wanderlei and I train together, it may be in case of having any contact, something that get us closer. In this case, if he needs my help or the contrary, we’ll sure train together”.
“We always trained together (on the Chute Boxe times), we’re friends and people (from media) created bad feelings among us. He knows I criticized him positively and regarding to him I haven’t got much to talk about. Who knows what happened knows Wanderlei is a great fighter and I love him. He is a warrior and was my instigator, a man who always had a warrior spirit, everybody came after him”.
Brasil Combate: Is that true the tennis ball thrown towards you at a high speed help you develop your sidesteps (dodges)?
Anderson Silva: “It also helps. I practice it for many years and do it with my children, my daughter and the smaller on, João, for them acquire reflexes. It’s a play in which you take the reflexes and it works out many times. Obviously everything that happened was instinct and other things like tecnique is God gift”.

You rule, bro.
Belfort can't stand Silva but would be a good match for Anderson.
