Kilkenny backs out of clash with Kuchera

The MFC 24: Heat XC bout between Jared Kilkenny and Jason Kuchera has been canceled after Kilkenny backed out of the fight the day of the weigh-in.

No explanation was given for his last-minute refusal to fight. It is a disappointing turn of events for Kuchera who had worked diligently to get into top physical condition for the encounter. Kuchera, who had even agreed to take the bout at a catchweight of 210 pounds to accommodate Kilkenny, was eyeing a knockout victory that would have put him back in the mix amongst the Heat XC's top light heavyweights.

Kuchera is very likely to be on one of the Pavelich Sports Inc. upcoming shows - the MFC 25 showcase on Friday, May 7 at the Edmonton Northlands Expo Centre or the soon-to-announced first Heat XC card of 2010.
