Wyoming bill to allow mixed martial arts is signed into law

Postby ArmyofDarkness » Sun Mar 11, 2012 8:49 am

Wyoming, home of fighters including Justin Salas and Nate Marquardt, became the 45th state in America to legalize MMA. The milestone came Thursday, March 8 when Governor Matt Mead signed House Bill 87 into law.

The bill, sponsored by Representative Bryan Pedersen, had been unanimously approved by both the state's Senate and House of Representatives.

The bill outlines the creation of a state mixed martial arts board to oversee and regulate MMA matches.

MMA was not previously illegal in Wyoming, but because it was unregulated, bouts held there were not recognized by other states or on fighters' official records.

I was born in WYO and I can't think of any place there that could hold a UFC, Strikeforce or Bellator event.
What do you expect? The comedian is dead.
