Sergei Kharitonov (15-3) is set to fight at the DREAM 6 event which will show off the Grand Prix middleweight final.
Kharitonov has fought since he defeated Alistair Overeem at the K-1 Heroes Tournament Final – Overeem, is going to head the card versus the veteran Croatian, Mirko ‘Cro Cop’ Filipovic.
The Russian fighter has already beaten known names as Murilo Rua, Pedro Rizzo and Fabrício Werdum. Sergei is well-rounded and can be victorious under any condition: stand-up or on the ground.
Tom Atencio – Afflicition Vice-President – had announced that Kharitonov was supposed to fight for Affliction in early 2009 but the business didn't get a good finish up to now.
His opponent, ‘Mighty Mo’, is a giant who has great stand-up skills and is very experienced at the K-1 level. But Sergei already had success over another K-1 star, Semmy Schilt. Despite his long period off most people believe a return victory is inevitable.
