UPDATE - No Contract Signed!
UPDATE - No Contract Signed!
Our Brazilian friends from http://www.Naluta.com sent along the following:
Gabriel "Napão" Gonzaga did not confirm his supposed next fight against Josh Hendricks. His manager set up a deal but the contract wasn't signed. Fighting in November is still a real possibility.
"Napão" has trained hard all martial arts: Wrestling, Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai
and Boxing daily. Team Link is getting along good and the mates are becoming even more well-prepared.
Gonzaga still wants to fight for the heavyweight belt. He realizes
that the division is reaching a tough level and knows he'll have to wait for
another chance. The only way is keep winning until he deserves the
opportunity.
The Team Link fighter still thinks of the battle versus Randy
Couture for the HW title. That was his top UFC career moment that showed him to the MMA world as a tough contender.
Gabriel has improved his stand up skills. He showed off his kick power after the devastating victory over Mirko Cro Cop Filipovic. Gonzaga chose to fight on the ground against Justin McCully and overcame the opponent by Kimura. His aim is to not let the decision be in the judge's hands. Of course it is not always possible but the Brazilian tries to finish all of his bouts.
Now the UFC is focused on the three-fight heavyweight tournament and all of the attention is on Brock Lesnar, Frank Mir, Rodrigo "Minotauro" Nogueira and Randy Couture, of course.
