FEG Finalizes Rules for Dream
In the final moments before this weekend’s Dream.1 card, FEG – the parent company of K-1, HERO’S, and Dream, announced the rule-set for Dream.
*Weight Classes: 154, 168, 185, 205, 205+ (all weights listed in pounds)
*Rounds/Time: Two rounds – 10-minute opening round, 5-minute second round. 90 seconds will be given between rounds.
*Decisions: Judging will be decided on the fight’s entirety and no draws may be given. Judges have fifteen minutes to decide a fight’s outcome.
*Prohibited Strikes: No elbows to the head are allowed. Additionally, no soccer kicks or stomps are allowed to a grounded opponent. In the event that both fighters are on the ground, kicks to the face are permissible. Knees to the head of a grounded opponent are allowed, unless a weight disparity of 33-pounds or more exists (in which case, knees to the head on the ground are illegal). Furthermore, a “downed opponent” is defined as a fighter with any body part other than the soles of their feet touching the mat
