Medical Suspensions!!

MMAjunkie.com (http://www.mmajunkie.com) acquired the list of suspensions from the NSAC.

Wednesday's event took place at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino and features a main event between former WEC light heavyweight champion Doug Marshall and new title-holder Brian Stann.

Marshall was one of nine fighters issued a suspension.

The full list includes:

* Doug Marshall must have his right foot X-rayed and cleared by a doctor, or he faces a suspension until Sept. 23. Otherwise, he's suspended until May 11 with no contact until April 26.
* Bryan Baker is suspended until May 11 with no contact until April 26 due to a left-eye laceration.
* Tim McKenzie is suspended until April 26 with no contact until April 17 due to a left forehead laceration.
* Blas Avena is suspended until May 26 with no contact until May 11 for precautionary reasons.
* Brock Larson must have a possible broken jaw cleared by a doctor, or he's suspended until Sept. 23. Otherwise, he's suspended until May 11 with no contact until April 26.
* Rich Crunkilton is suspended until April 26 with no contact until April 17 for precautionary reasons.
* Sergio Gomez is suspended until April 26 with no contact until April 17 due to a scalp laceration.
* Chris Manuel is suspended until April 3 with no contact until April 3 due to a right thumb contusion.

it's crazy how much less the WEC guys make overall than the UFC guys, but yet they (at least seem to) have so many more injuries...

and the last WEC event was better than some UFC events for sure.

and even though brock larson had one of the higher paydays @ $24k, that crazy long 6-month suspension is really going to stretch his paycheck.

i think these guys are definitely underpaid, just like the undercard UFC fighters... they're putting their bodies at risk, and frequently get hurt enough to not be able to work (even if it's only for a little while), even the lowest salaries should be more like $10k than $2-3k...

and it's not like the promotions can't afford it.

I would have to agree with both of you.
