Liddell Out of UFC 85; Irvin in?
Former UFC light heavyweight champion Chuck Liddell has pulled out of his upcoming fight with Rashad Evans due to a torn hamstring.
Liddell had originally been scheduled to fight Mauricio “Shogun” Rua on the card, but Evans was tapped as a replacement after Rua had to have another surgery on his recently repaired knee.
The Wrestling Observer has stated that UFC 85, scheduled for the O2 Arena, has sold over 10,000 tickets, making it very unlikely that the event will be re-scheduled entirely.
Several sources have confirmed to PDG that James Irvin who had a record KO of Houston Alexander recently, may step in and face Evans. Stay tuned for more details as they become available.
