Thiago Alves vs. Diego Sanchez @ UFC 89!

Sources within American Top Team have informed PDG that a welterweight bout between knockout artist Thiago Alves and The Ultimate Fighter season one winner Diego Sanchez is in the works.

Alves is currently riding high on a two-fight win streak, stopping both Karo Parisyan and former UFC welterweight champion Matt Hughes by knockout in the second round.

Sanchez is also on a two-fight win streak, destroying David Bielkheden and putting on a striking clinic against Luigi Fioravanti.

UFC 89 is slated to take place on October 18 in Birmingham, England at the National Indoor Arena. Aside from the possible bout between Alves and Sanchez, Sam Stout is a likely candidate to appear on the card.

I'm pretty excited so far for this card. Three solid bouts so far - though I expect Stout/Kelly to fall to the undercard.

As far as Alves/Sanchez, I expect Sanchez to push to the pace and win round one, but Alves to come back and be the first to stop Diego in the second.
