Thales Leites Update!!
By Edu Ramos

Thales Leites took a break from his training to answer some questions. He is going to face the North-American Dean Lister, a Jiu Jitsu specialist, at UFN 15 – in September. Check it out:

Naluta: Dean Lister has just beaten Jeremy Horn by submission. He is a fighter who uses Brazilian Jiu Jitsu as his main weapon of attack. What do you think about the choice of this opponent and what game plan do you intend to put in practice to beat him?

Leites: I find it to be a good choice. Lister is a very good fighter and tries to fight on the mat like me. It'll be a good fight and if it depends on me there will be non-stop action. I'm prepared to fight stand up, take downs and on the mat.

Naluta: Thales, if you win your next fight, do you believe you will be the next contender for the belt?

Leites: I don't know what they (UFC) will decide. So far everything that has been mentioned about a title-match are rumors. The UFC has to state something to be official. I believe in my potential and I'm sure the moment will come and I'm working for it.

Naluta: How is your training going?

Leites: As excellent as ever. The team is always training together and I am preparing my conditioning and training hard to get 100% ready.

Naluta: Would you like to add any message for fans and sponsors?

Leites: Thank you to everyone. I feel happy to know that people support me by giving good thoughts. Thank you to my sponsors. They always support me so much: MTX Áudio and SPRAWL.

The proposed bout between middleweights Dean Lister and Thales Leites, originally reported by several outlets as taking place on Sept. 17 as a part of the UFC Fight Night show emanating from Omaha, Neb., has been postponed due to a slight knee injury suffered by Lister, as confirmed to MMAWeekly.com by Lister’s management team at Haymaker’s Empire.
