Major UFC Announcement Today at 3pm ET

UFC President Dana White will hold a media conference call later today to make a major UFC announcement. The call will take place at 3pm ET/12Noon PT. Check back with UFC.com for the full report.

It is expected that they will announce at the conference that Randy "The Natural" Couture and the UFC have come to terms on a new three-fight contract that could see Couture return to the Octagon as early as November.

Dana just announced on the call that on November 15th Brock Lesnar will face Randy Couture! TITLE FIGHT in Las Vegas at the MGM GRAND!!

Other notes:

-Dana says he is open to a Fedor-Couture match.
-UFC will hold a future event in Portland.
-Winner of Mir vs. Nog will face the winner of Lesnar vs. Couture.
-All legal issues between Couture and the UFC are finished.


“The winner of the Brock and Randy fight will be the heavyweight champion of the UFC. Obviously, the reality show is already in motion and they are already scheduled to fight, so Nogueira and Mir will fight for the interim championship and then it will be champion versus champion when this thing is all done. So it’s a pretty interesting little tournament,” stated White.

“Couture and Lesnar will go Nov. 15, then the winner will wait to see who wins the interim fight in December. Then we’ll have a heavyweight unification fight next year,” he added, calling it a little tournament.

“We put the feelers out there. There was talk about him fighting Cheick Kongo; fans weren’t very interested in that. At the end of the day, one of the great things about the UFC, we’re not caught up in all the boxing political fucking bullshit. We can basically put on fights that fans want to see. And I think that this is a very interesting heavyweight tournament going on with Couture and Lesnar”

“I can tell you this right now, mark my words on this one, Couture vs. Lesnar will be the biggest fight in UFC history. So obviously it’s a fight that people want to see. Then the winner of that fight will face the winner of Mir and Nogueira.”

This is going to a badass fight - Hell YEA!!...........................

Lesnar asked about Fedor on the call:

"Who gives a shit about Fedor Emelianenko?" Lesnar started "I'm sick and tired of sitting on the phone listening about Fedor. Who fucking gives a shit?"
