'Babalu' Sobral out of Strikeforce At The Mansion

Postby NWOWolfpack » Wed Sep 10, 2008 9:16 am

Renato "Babalu" Sobral has been forced off of the Strikeforce At The Mansion show, set for September 20th, with an apparent leg injury. The promotion is now looking for a replacement to fill in on short notice to face Anthony Ruiz on the card.

Ruiz was a replacement himself as he stepped in to take the place of Strikeforce Light Heavyweight Champion Bobby Southworth, who was pulled from the card due to an injury last month. Southworth was scheduled to defend the championship against Sobral in a five-round bout.

No word on who will replace Sobral at this time, or when Sobral will be back in action for Strikeforce.

Strikeforce At The Mansion II will be streamed live from the grounds of the world-famous Playboy Mansion on Sherdog.com on September 20th, and the card will feature names like Kazuo Misaki and Mitsuhiro Ishida (both making their Strikeforce debuts), Joe Riggs and the current Strikeforce Lightweight Champion Josh Thomson, who will fight in a main event, non-title bout against Ashe Bowman.

.........That sucks!!
What do you expect? The comedian is dead.

Despite a knee injury in mid-August that required surgery last week, Renato "Babalu" Sobral is already back in the gym and optimistic he could fight again in November.
