The UFC has taken the unusual step of signing unbeaten Brazilian welterweight Paulo Thiago to a one-fight deal.
Thiago (7-0) was picked up by the organisation last week and added to the bill for UFC 95, where he will face division contender Koscheck.
Speaking to leading Brazilian news site Brasil Combate earlier today, Thiago said he is excited to be given the opportunity to fight for the UFC, and intends to show that he deserves a place there.
“My expectations are great. It’s a golden opportunity in my life and I will give my best in the training to sign a longer contract,” he said.
Thiago represents Constrictor Team and has competed in leading Brazilian promotions Jungle Fight and Capital Challenge.
UFC 95 takes place at the O2 Arena, London on Saturday February 21st, and will be headlined by a lightweight clash between Joe Stevenson and division newcomer Diego Sanchez.
