Light heavyweight prospect Jon Jones and former UFC heavyweight Jake O'Brien have been added to face off at UFC 100, say sources close to Jones and O'Brien.
Jones (8-0) made his UFC debut in August by taking a unanimous decision over former IFL fighter Andre Gusmao. Most recently he defeated Stephan Bonnar by decision at UFC 94 on January 31. Seven of Jones' professional wins came just last year following the start of his career on April 12.
O'Brien (11-2) made his UFC debut in August 2006 with a TKO stoppage over Kristof Midoux at UFC Fight Night 6. Utilizing a strong wrestling base, O'Brien then defeated Josh Shockman and international stand-out Heath Herring by decision. After dropping back to back TKO losses to former UFC champion Andrei Arlovski and rising talent Cain Velasquez, O'Brien made the move to 205 pounds where he defeated fellow former heavyweight Christian Wellisch by split decision at UFC 94.
Slated for July 11, UFC 100 is set to feature a heavyweight unification bout between former WWE star and UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar and current UFC interim heavyweight champion Frank Mir, as well as a welterweight title bout between champion Georges St. Pierre and Thiago Alves.
Former PRIDE champion Dan Henderson will meet The Ultimate Fighter 3 winner Michael Bisping on the card, following their upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter which they are coaching. Number two ranked Canadian welterweight Jonathan Goulet will meet up with Dong Hyun Kim, and C.B. Dollaway is expected to appear.
