Steve Cantwell vs. Vladimir Matyushenko - UFC 108 Canceled

A planned light heavyweight bout between Steve Cantwell (8-3 MMA, 1-2 UFC) and Vladimir Matyushenko (23-4 MMA, 4-2 UFC) has officially been pulled from this weekend's UFC 108 event.

UFC officials confirmed the news prior to today's UFC 108 pre-event press conference.

Cantwell was forced off the Jan. 2 card on Tuesday for undisclosed reasons, as first reported by http://www.MMAWeekly.com.

UFC President Dana White announced at Wednesday's pre-fight press conference that Cantwell would not be competing due to "medical problems".

"He might never fight again," said White.
