The organization of Bitett Combat is in the works to sign legendary mixed martial artist Kazushi Sakuraba to fight in Brazil against Paulo “The Bullet” Filho, on Feb 25th. Alex Hooligan (staff) is going to Japan to negotiate with Japanese fighters this week and Yuki Kondo can be another great name to be announced for the show. There were interest from the athletes but nothing is definited, though.
“The Gracie Hunter” became famed after beating three honourable members of the Gracie Family, Royler, Royce and Renzo at extinct Pride Fighting Championship. Sakuraba fought for Dream 11 and 12, occasions in which the veteran managed two submission wins over Rubin Williams (Kimura) and Zelg Galesic (kneebar).
After losing his WEC middleweight belt to Chael Sonnen, “The Bullet” squared off Melvin Manhoef at Dream 10 in his return and finished the fight via submission (armbar), after suffering a flurry of punches from the vicious striker. Then Filho scored two additional wins over Alex Schoenauer and Tatsuhiko Nishizaka at Bitetti Combat, event where the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu expert has climbed the steps back to the spotlight.
So far, the card features:
Glover Teixeira x Jeff Monson
Fabio Maldonado x Valentijn Overeem
Cristiano Marcello x Luciano Correa Izzy
Ediene “Índia” Gomes x Amanda Nunes
Luiz Firmino “Buscapé” x Francisco Drinaldo “Massaranduba”
