KOTC ADDS RIGGS TO DEC. 15 CARD
A middleweight fight between UFC veteran Joe “Diesel” Riggs and Mike “Gates of Hell” Gates has been added to the King of the Cage “Avalanche” event on Saturday, Dec. 15 at the Moncton Coliseum in Moncton, New Brunswick.
Riggs (27-9) is coming off a first-round knockout victory over Eugene Jackson at a Strikeforce show in September. After defeating Dan Chambers inside Canada’s Hardcore Championship Fighting promotion in July, Riggs was granted his release from the remainder of his contract with the Zuffa LLC-owned World Extreme Cagefighting.
Gates (4-1-1, 1-0 KOTC) has been a busy man this month, as he fought twice in one week. He lost a decision to Anderson Conclaves at KOTC “Battlescar” on Nov. 3 before rebounding to submit Lucas Sinclair under the Palace Fighting Championship banner one week later.
With over 35 fights, including eight inside the UFC Octagon, Riggs will serve as a step up in competition for Gates.
