UFC INKS KOREAN MIDDLEWEIGHT DONG-YI YANG
Unbeaten in nine professional fights, with all of his victories coming by way of knockout or submission, South Korean middleweight Dong-Yi Yang is ready to test the waters in the world’s premier mixed martial arts organization, as it was announced today that “The Hammer” has signed an exclusive contract with the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
A pro since 2007, the 27-year old Yang came flying out of the gates with an exciting and punishing style that quickly earned him a reputation as one of the best finishers in the game today. Even fighting in the heavyweight division didn’t diminish Yang’s ability to stop his opponents, and with wins over the likes of PRIDE veteran Pawel Nastula while competing in the Deep and Sengoku organizations, he has risen to the top of the list when it comes to the sport’s most talented prospects.
Fresh from a 67 second TKO of Bill Saures in his most recent bout on May 21st, Yang – a member of the same Korean Top Team that produced WEC star Chan Sung Jung - is eager to battle the best the UFC has to offer.
The date and location of Yang’s UFC debut, as well as the name of his opponent, will be announced at a later date.
