Hi Frank:
I was incredibly impressed with your passion, aggression and heart in the fight with Baroni in San Jose this year. It was a lot different than the fight in February against Gracie. You seemed like a completely different fighter! What was the major difference(s)?

Hey Frank, thanks for stopping by, loved the Baroni fight and stoked that you are fighting again (ass kissing out of the way now on to the questions

I saw your vid about your knee being as healed as it could without surgery, how's it holding up right now - close to 100%?
Who's next for you - rematch with Renzo or the fight with Cung Le?

Assuming you never make happy with Zuffa/Dana/UFC/WEC will you fight Matt Lindland or Robbie Lawler or similar free agents?
I'd like to see you against higher level competition than Cung/Renzo (no disprectect to either).

Side question -Â what's the story with you and the AKA guys (Crazy Bob, Javier etc) - are you guys still friends or was there a falling out?

And finally how much longer do you anticipate fighting and how often?

Thanks in advance!!

Hey Bro,
It's Phil Ross from NJ, how are things? You guys getting ready for your new arrival?
1st - I want to thank you for all of your support. My DVD series just achieved a #1 Rating from the Socyberty site! Krav Maga was second, followed by pressure points, wing chung, etc... THANKS!
SSF- I want to move up to the next level...do you plan on doing anything like the American Top Team is doing with certifications?
Is it true that a fight b/w you & Ken has been slated?
I look forward to seeing you fight again soon!
Keeping the faith in NJ!

Totems - 3 days ago
Woot hey Frank. Long time fan since back in UFC days. Who is your next match with? Man that Igor slam I you pulled off. I can still feel it lol.
soldiergirl - 3 days ago
Hi Frank, first and foremost love n respect for all that you have done for MMA, my question to you is what would be your ideal age for retirement? For I wana see you continue for many years to come....
todovaya - 3 days ago
Who do you want in your next match?
jojo333 - 3 days ago
Im a big fan and just wish we saw more of you.I imagine you get fed up with being asked but is there real rivalry between you and ken ?
vinny - 3 days ago
Frank I'm a huge fan. Great fight with Baroni. I have watched many of your old fight tapes with just about all your opponents listed on file. I know you fought Bas 2 times, beating him your 1st pro fight. I never saw that fight can you tell us how it went, how long it lasted and how it ended. Please Frank don't fight yur brother, no true fan of MMA wants to see that. There are so many other potential great fights out there for you. I wish you would swat that little ass Josh Thompson in the head. Don't like the cheap shit he slings in reference to you. I think he is very jelous of you.

With the expansion of the IFL, I was wondering what your ideas/plans/thoughts are on expanding MMA, and specifically the IFL to include smaller weight classes, like the feather and bantamweights of the WEC.Â
vinny - 3 days ago
Frank, During your fight with the Anacondas in the IFL I noticed during one of the matches Shawn Tompkins (trainer, coach) was screaming across the ring. He yelled out something like This will send Frank Shamrock packing. Like it was you in the ring or something. What is your relationship with him if any, any problems with him in the past or maybe his 0-4 pro record just has him dilusional. If he wants you so bad maybe give him a fight, he did fight at 185. Kick ass Frank. When I hear you have a fight coming up, I loose my freakin mind. If you have a rematch with Gracie, don't let him fall asleep on you again. I thought he should open up a new school, The Gracie School of professional Acting coming to a town near you.

Who has been your toughest opponent? and why?
Who in MMA do you respect the most?
CYRENE - 2 days ago
Hi Frank,
I was wondering if there is a possiblity you may open up a gym somewhere in the Fairfield, Vallejo area. There are not that many really good Kickboxing schools around, and having to commute to a good school is too much with traffic and all. Do you see any gyms opening up around this area in the near future?

Hey Frank, what are the plans for next year, also I might be coming out to San Jose and was wondering if I might be able to get a chance to train there? Ken says you guys are fighting, true??

Frank,
This is Joey, one of the mods of frankshamrock.com
The forum is a little death and people are starting to get restless. I speak for the mods especially of the Ask Frank section. You post from time to time but never in Ask Frank section. We need you to anwer your fans their questions. Or else what's point of the Ask Frank section? It's your obligation to your forum.

I know you're busy but can you spare 15 minutes a week?
My apologies to do it this way but you've been hard to contact.
All the best and count on us to hold up the fort.
Peace!
Joey

Some questions from your bro's and sis's from the forum!
Many names have come up for fights in your interviews (like Renzo, Ken, Robbie Lawler and Cung Le) and one has earned a shot at your title by winning that StrikeForce tournament(Santiago).

-Who are you going to fight (and if you can't share the details yet, who do you want to fight besides Ken and in what order?)

-Â Babalu is fighting Vernon in January in StrikeForce) and Vernon has talked trash about Frank in the past (meddling between brothers). There's a great storyline for fighting ... former teammates and maybe a set up for a showdown with Ken. Or what about Babalu? A serious threat to anyone not named Chuck Liddell.

We've been hearing you for years that you want to do a boxing match. In one of your latest interviews you said that you believe you can beat pro boxers. So is there a Frank vs Oscar de la Hoya fight in the making? Or maybe organize a boxing match with an MMA fighter who's known for his boxing like Vitor Belfort, lil Nog (Brazillian boxing champ) or maybe Bas Rutten if his knees are healthy enough. (didn't include UFC fighters cause with their contracts it will never happen)
Randy Couture fought Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza in a professional submission grappling match. Is that something you would be interested in? And who would he like to face? (Ken at heavyweight?)
Last question:

In an old interview you said you won the shooto heavyweight title. This is cut and paste and the source is the link:
 http://www.realfighting.com/0102/shamint.htm
Q
What was the next big step for you in your career?

Frank
Well, Pancrase (1995-1996) and I went back to Japan in 1997, I changed companies in 1997 and fought Vale Tudo in Japan and I fought Enson Inoue, he was the heavyweight Shooto champion at the time, and I challenged him for the heavyweight title.

Q
How did that go?

Frank
I won the title; I knocked him out in the 2nd round. Three weeks later I fought Kevin Jackson for the UFC Middleweight championship. And I beat him in 14 seconds.
You answered this one time on your old forum but info from the old site is lost. Could you please clarify this again since the Shooto heavyweight title isn't on your resume?
Thanx from the forum!!!!!!!!

Hey man, I got your T-shirt "victory amongst soldiers"!! I didn't get it autographed though. . . . You're sick w/ it man.
thamotts - 2 days ago
Frank,
First, I want to congratulate you on your victory over Phil Baroni.  That was a great fight! You fought a good fight and I enjoyed the showmanship too. Also, congrats on your latest movie endevours.Â
Fight Questions: How many fights do you hope to have in 2008? Who will you be fighting in 2008? Will we see a re-match with Renzo Gracie? Would you fight Robbie Lawler for the Elite XC Championship? Will you fight Matt Lindland?Â
Acting/Movies Question: Do you think we'll see a movie/documentary about your life on the big screen (like Rocky) some day?

Frank,
I'd like to have you wear our gear for a fight but kinda fall short of the paper required to properly compensate a top fighter. How about you be Willie Wonka and we'll be Charlie. Send me the golden ticket my friend.

Hi Frank,
I have been very impressed by your comeback so far. A lot of people question your motives for coming out of retirement saying you aren't interested in fighting the best.
I disagree. I just assume you are working your way up the ladder of what is availabe for you. I would love to see you fight anybody on this list Ninja, Lawler, Baroni 2 (I don't think it is needed but would be exciting), Ken Shamrock, Santiago, Niko Vitale, Cung Le, and especially Vitor if he truly does go to 185.
Do you have any plans to unify the Strikeforce title with EliteXC, Cage Rage, or any others? What would you say your career plan is right now? I would love to see you continue to take MMA to the next level like you did in your first run by creating a real 185 pound champion of the world.
I am a big fan first of all and just want to say good luck.
JoeHamilton - 1 day ago
Hey Frank,
Nice work with Baroni. How do you feel about the IFL and their recent changes in coaches?
So what's the scoop whith Renzo? Can we expect a re-match in the near future?
All the best in the future,
Joe Hamilton

Hey Frank.Â
I've really just gotten interested in MMA, but I'm a pretty big fan of yours.Â
I saw an interview with your brother that said there would be a Battle of the Shamrocks and today I read in Sam Caplan's blog here at ProElite.com that EliteXC is negotiating for this fight.Â
Would this be the next fight for you? Any idea on when we'd be seeing you kick your brother's butt? Obviously next year is a good bet...but what month? winter, spring, summer, fall?
UnitedCombatNet - 1 day ago
Hi Frank,
Are you under exclusive contract with EliteXC? If not, you can challenge the World through UnitedCombat.net where fans do the match making. The dream match up could happen right there, I am sure a lot of fighters would choose an independent platform to get in the cage with you.
Anyway, I wish you healthy and victorious 2008,
Konstantin

Frank hows it going? Just wanted to ask you this. Ken says he used to beat you around in the gym and not that he has gotten a little older and slower that you want to show that you can beat him around. Any comment? Please dont waste your time on Renzo he is crap and we all know you can beat him. I would love to see you in the UFC just to prove everyone worng and show that you are the best in your division.
CrewMMA - 1 day ago
Frank, let me say. I enjoyed watching your matches and was stoked when you came back out of retirement.
But what I really want to know, is the Shamrock versus Gracie feud over? If not whens the match so I can get tickets?

What do you do for fun outside of MMA and Martial arts?
rufio-e0 - 1 day ago
How are your knees?
What are your feelings on the DQ on the Renzo fight?
Are we going to see you in any more Burger King commercials?(j/k)
What do you have to say to people that think the Cesar Gracie fight was a mismatch?
Are you going to franchise the Shamrock Martial Arts Academy and open more gyms?
Is the baby a boy or a girl? And do you have a name picked out?
ThanksÂ
JoeyvanTienen - 1 day ago
Hi Frank, me again!!!!! Hahaha , I have to take advantage of it while I can.
1. I remember a few years ago you said in an interview that you followed the guidelines of the book "Eat Right For Your Type"

(for those interested, the interview is on the following link: http://www.realfighting.com/0102/shamint.htm)

Are you still following those guidelines? I ask you this because i've the book at home and after reading it I did some research about it on the internet and came across the following negative review:

http://www.ultimatefatburner.com/review ... -type.html

Although the writer of that article can be blunt he does raise some very interesing points in that article. And I'm like: "How the hell did Frank get in peak shape by following those guidelines?" SOme people succeed despite their diet though.
2. You've switched with a lot of coaches (like you said: nothing works for long). How was it like being trained by Donald A. Chu? Did you reached a plateau? What were the ups and downs of training with him?
3. Are you still training shadowboxing and takedowns with the jumpsoles? Added some new exercises?
4. From your  "100 workout"  I know most of the exercises but what are stand ups, shots and elevators?
