Hughes Says He Might Fight Serra Next If He Loses To GSP
The following is an excerpt from a blog entry by Matt Hughes on his official website at Matt-Hughes.com:
My match didn’t go like I thought it would at all. It seems I never got my gameplan started. Georges came in there and didn’t hesitate on anything, when he wanted to do something he did it and it seems when I wanted to do something, I thought about it and then I didn’t have the chance to do it. When you have a chance to do something, you just have to pull the trigger and do it right then and there. I’m going to take some time off and think about things. I’ve already talked to Dana and Lorenzo, and we’ll probably see what happens with Georges and Serra. And if Serra loses, I might go against him. Nothing is set in stone, just an idea right now. Like I said after the fight, I came in in shape with a good gameplan, I just didn’t execute. I want to thank everybody for their support, for the emails and mostly for the prayers.
For those of you who have been asking, my arm will be fine and my black eye will heal.
I hope everyone has a great 2008. -Matt

i think hughes will retire after the serra fight no matter the outcome.
cause if he beats serra, he can console himself with rock-paper-scissors MMA and say "i beat the guy who beat GSP", plus he can retire on a win.
if he loses i just don't see him having the heart to get back in the cage after a third straight loss...
unless UFC decides to throw him the worst can ever to cheer him up before the serra fight. and then have him beat up a couple more cans so they can bank on his name a few more times.
but i'm rambling, point i'll be suprised if hughes doesn't retire after fighting serra.

To err is human.
To post it is unforgivable.
