Antanas Jazbutis is a professional mixed martial artist who has appeared in organizations such as Cage Rage, Ultimate Impact, Shooto, Acropolis Fight Night, Cagemania, Rings, Knuckle Up MMA, Angrrr Management, Ring Knights, Cage Clash, and AMMA Fighting Championships. At the time of this interview, his next scheduled match is against Graham Turner in the Cage Warriors Fighting Championship at CWFC 40 on February 26th, 2011.

Darrick: How did you end up competing professionally in mixed martial arts?

Antanas: When I was fourteen years old, I was inspired by martial artists from action movies. Stars such as Bruce Lee, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Jackie Chan, Jet Li, and many others. It motivated me in deciding to try some martial arts. My mother style was Soto Kan Karate. I saw the first Ultimate Fighting Championship and I said to myself that I'm going to be a fighter too. So, now I'm almost twenty-nine years old and still in action as a professional mixed martial artist.

Darrick: Who are some of the people that greatly influenced you while growing up?

Antanas: My mates from Trojan Free Fighters gym such as manager Paul Sutherland, fighters Ronnie Mann, Che Mills, Marc Allen, Robert, Kondrad, Sasha, Stuart, Anisio, and many others who help me a lot.

Darrick: Any words of advice for other individuals looking to compete in MMA?

Antanas: My advice for beginners is to choose the right gym with skilled, friendly fighters and a good management team.

Darrick: Your next scheduled fight is against Graham Turner on February 26th. What are your thoughts about this upcoming match?

Antanas: My next fight will be this Saturday at a Cage Warriors event in London against Graham Turner and that's going to be a war. I am really looking forward to this match because I always wanted try Cage Warriors. This time I get my shot on a little short of notice, just six days prior to the fight.

Darrick: What brings you the most fulfillment out of martial arts?

Antanas: Working towards competing in the UFC.

Darrick: Who are a few of the people in the sport that you highly respect?

Antanas: I have a lot of respect is for certain MMA stars such as Fedor Emelianenko, Randy Couture, Anderson Silva, Wanderlei Silva , Georges St-Pierre, Jose Aldo, Urijah Faber, Ross Pearson, Brad Pickett, Ronnie Mann, and lots of other people. I think they all leave their heart in this sport, every training session and every fight.

Darrick: Outside of MMA, what are your other interests?

Antanas: When I am not training, I like to spend time with my girlfriend, be with family, read some books, surf the internet, and watch movies. I also like to travel as much as possible on the weekends with my girlfriend. I live in the United Kingdom at the moment, so I love to see the many great castles and nature.

Darrick: What is your oldest memory?

Anatanas: I think watching a movie about a last samurai.

Darrick: Tell us something about you that most people don't know.

Antanas: I like chocolate cakes. I can eat lots and lots, non-stop. Even if I am on a diet before a fight.

Darrick: When you're no longer amongst the living, how would you most like to be remembered?

Antanas: As one of the top and greatest MMA fighters in the world from Lithuania! (Smiles) I'm proud to be Lithuanian.
