10 Questions With Jared Hess (by Darrick Patrick)

Jared Hess is a professional mixed martial artist who has appeared in organizations such as Masters Of The Cage, King Of Kombat, Warriors Of The Cage, and C3 Fights. At the time of this interview, his next scheduled match is against Daniel Tabera in Bellator Fighting Championships at BFC 3 on April 17th, 2009.

Darrick: How did you end up competing in professional mixed martial arts?

Jared: Wrestling is what led me to fighting MMA professionally.

Darrick: Your next scheduled fight is against Daniel Tabera on April 17th. What are your thoughts about this upcoming match?

Jared: This is the biggest fight of my career so far. I've seen him fight before and I think his style matches up well with me.

Darrick: Who is someone in the sport that you highly respect?

Jared: Anderson Silva because he steps up to the plate and wins.

Darrick: Do you have any words of advice for other individuals looking to train in MMA?

Jared: I would say start out slow if you do not have some form of mixed martial arts background in areas such as boxing, wrestling, or Jiu-Jitsu. Join a good gym and take everything slow, one step at a time.

Darrick: What brings you the most fulfillment out of martial arts?

Jared: The same thing as wrestling. It is a one-on-one sport and there is no better feeling than having your hand raised at the end of a fight.

Darrick: Who is someone that greatly influenced you while growing up?

Jared: My mother was a big influence to me. She supports me in everything I do. She always has and always will.

Darrick: Outside of MMA, what are your other interests?

Jared: I enjoy hunting and love spending time with my daughter and friends. Oh, and also watching Family Guy.

Darrick: Tell us something about you that most people don't know.

Jared: I'm not sure on this one. Some people don't know that I own my own home.

Darrick: What is your oldest memory?

Jared: Playing "army" with my neighborhood friends while growing up.

Darrick: If you had superpowers, what would they be?

Jared: I would want to have the abilities of Wolverine.
