10 Questions With Rodney Wallace (by Darrick Patrick)

Rodney "Sho Nuff The Master" Wallace is a professional mixed martial artist who has appeared in organizations such as the Ultimate Fighting Championship, M-1 Challenge, Vendetta Fighting Championship, Revolution Fight Club, and Vengeance Fighting Championship. At the time of this very short interview, his next scheduled match is against Jared Hamman in the Ultimate Fighting Championship at UFC 111: St-Pierre vs. Hardy on March 27th, 2010.

Darrick: What was the journey that led you to professional mixed martial arts competition?

Rodney: I started wrestling at twelve years old and that ended up giving me a healthy hunger for competition. I didn't get into a lot of fights when I was young, but I always wanted to be a good fighter.

Darrick: Who are some of the people that greatly influenced you while growing up?

Rodney: I didn't have any real major influences in my life. I kind of made my own path.

Darrick: Do you have any words of advice for other individuals looking to train in MMA?

Rodney: The advice I have to offer to anyone who wants to train in mixed martial arts is that if you do it for the love of it, you will be great. If you're only doing it to be great, you will quit soon enough.

Darrick: Your next scheduled fight is against Jared Hamman on March 27th. What are your thoughts about this upcoming match?

Rodney: The only thing on the mind of a shark is to eat.

Darrick: What brings you the most fulfillment out of martial arts?

Rodney: I like teaching and showing someone else something that I've had success doing.

Darrick: Who are a few of the people in the sport that you highly respect?

Rodney: I respect everybody not in my weight class. Everyone else can bite me.

Darrick: Outside of MMA, what are your other interests?

Rodney: The main thing outside of martial arts for me is raising my kids.

Darrick: What is your oldest memory?

Rodney: The earliest memory I have is of my house burning down when I was a little kid.

Darrick: Tell us something about you that most people don't know.

Rodney: SpongeBob SquarePants is my favorite show.

Darrick: If you had superpowers, what would they be?

Rodney: I would freeze time so that I can do what I'm doing right now forever.
