Newcastle United and EA SPORTS renew partnership for 2 years

Newcastle United has extended its partnership with EA SPORTS, with the videogames giant continuing as the club's gaming partner for the next two years.

The deal with the company behind the flagship FIFA series - a firm favourite with the players - will see a number of benefits for fans of the Magpies.

They include a special Newcastle United version of the FIFA 13 cover which fans will be able to download for free when the game launches later this year, while the EA SPORTS Dugout will visit the Sports Direct Arena during key fixtures this season, allowing fans to compete against one another.

Like last year, there will be a Pro Player Tournament at the training ground as the quest to find the best FIFA player at the club continues, EA SPORTS will also produce match simulation video content during the season and ask fans to upload their best goals. There are even plans to host a fans' tournament in Shearer's Bar, where members of the Toon Army will vie to become the FIFA champion.

Dan Holman, EA SPORTS’ Head of UK Product Marketing, said: "We're delighted to be renewing our partnership with Newcastle United. We look forward to building on last year's success by developing a wide range of initiatives that fully engage and excite the supporters throughout the 2012/13 season."

Newcastle United's Head of Partnerships, Dale Aitchison, said: "We are delighted to partner with EA SPORTS for the next two seasons as it is one of the world’s leading entertainment brands especially in football. Partnerships such as this will help ensure the long-term growth and success of our club."

FIFA 13 launches in the UK on the 28thof September.
