Paradox Drives Digital Innovation While Catering to Community

Publisher Annouces Several New Fan-Inspired Titles in Time for Gamescom

Cologne, Germany -- Aug 19, 2009 -- On the eve of Gamescom, Paradox Interactive made several announcements at their informal press and partner gathering in Cologne on Tuesday.

"Over the past 10 years we've focused on innovation, growth and creating a lasting relationship to our customers by building a strong community," said Fredrik Wester, CEO Paradox Interactive. "Today we have one, if not the strongest online community in the industry and are recognized as a leading PC strategy games publishers worldwide. For this reason, I'm extremely proud to introduce our upcoming Paradox portfolio which is a tribute to all of those who helped get us here."

Victoria 2
As Hearts of Iron 3 continues to receive critical acclaim worldwide, Paradox's internal development team is gearing up for their next big project. Using information collected from an extensive poll on the Paradox forum, the team will work on a sequel to the immensly popular grand strategy game set in the colonial era of the 19th century. Vitoria 2 is scheduled for a 2010 release.

For the Glory
Following Paradox's pioneering initiative to license out the Europa Universalis engine for free, the first title utilizing such technology is ready to hit the public in Q4, 2009. This ”fan-developed” title, a hybrid of the successful titles Europa Universalis 2 and Europa Univeralis 3, will offer full historical immersion and a new in-depth experience that will feature more than 10,000 historically accurate events between 1419-1819.

Europa Universalis 3: Heir to the Throne
Just like the previously mentioned titles, the concept for this expansion was born on the fourms as gamers came together to specify what else they would like to see added to Europa Universalis 3. Scheduled for release in December 2009, Europa Universalis 3: Heir to the Throne is a gift to fans searching for a true completion to the Europa Universalis saga.
