IBM Patents Bullet-Dodging Armor

IBM has a patent out for a type of armor that would allow soldiers (or just people that get shot at a lot, like Presidents) to dodge bullets. Hit the jump for an explanation of how.
The idea is that the armor would consist of two facets. The first would be a projectile-sensing scanner that would continuously scan in all directions for a “projectile,” such as, say, a .50 caliber sniper rifle bullet.
The second part is a muscle-stimulating mechanism that would either induct the wearer to dodge frickin’ bullets! Most likely, this means just inducing split-second paralysis causing them to collapse. Not as sexy as bending over backwards like in The Matrix, but when you’re being shot at you take what you can get, I suppose.
