(LAS VEGAS, NV) – The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) presents its eighth UFC Fan Expo event on Friday, July 5 and Saturday, July 6 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas. Also, slated for July 6 is UFC 162: SILVA vs. WEIDMAN at MGM Grand Garden Arena.

“We love giving UFC fans unprecedented access to our sport and athletes,” UFC President Dana White said. “This July, we are planning the ultimate fan experience that includes UFC 162, the UFC Fan Expo which will feature more UFC fighters than any other UFC fan event EVER, and a Fight Week featuring pool parties, concerts and more. UFC Fan Expo 2013 will feature more than 300,000 gross square feet of activities for UFC fans, including meet and greets and autograph sessions with top UFC fighters, Q&A sessions with top UFC personalities, as well as grappling tournaments and other special events. More than 150 exhibitors will also be on hand, giving fans the opportunity to purchase and experience some of the best sports and lifestyle products on the market today. This marks the fourth UFC Fan Expo held in Las Vegas since its inception in 2009, with additional UFC Fan Expos being held in Boston, London, Toronto and Houston.

On top of all the great fan activities, the UFC Fan Expo will be held in conjunction with UFC 162: SILVA vs. WEIDMAN scheduled for July 6 at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva (33-4) will take on top contender Chris Weidman (9-0) as he looks to extend his record for most consecutive wins (16), title defenses (10), most finishes (14) and longest title reign. Two other exciting middleweight bouts are confirmed for the card, as Tim Boetsch faces Mark Munoz and Roger Gracie squares off with Tim Kennedy.

Forrest Griffin and Stephan Bonnar to Team Up Once Again to be Inducted into UFC Hall of Fame at UFC Fan Expo


Las Vegas – The Ultimate Fighting Championship® (UFC®) announced more than 50 UFC® stars scheduled to appear at the UFC Fan Expo®, presented by FOX Sports 1, on Friday, July 5 and Saturday, July 6 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas. The largest collection of the sport’s biggest names ever assembled will be featured under one roof in July at the can’t-miss fan event of the year.

Fans will have the chance to meet their favorite stars during meet and greets and autograph sessions, grappling tournaments, Q&A presentations, training and development seminars, and much more. Also during the UFC Fan Expo, Forrest Griffin and Stephan Bonnar will team up once again for another moment in UFC history. The duo will be inducted to the UFC Hall of Fame. Griffin (19-7), who announced his retirement following UFC® 160, captured the UFC light heavyweight championship and won Fight of the Night honors on five occasions. Bonnar (17-8) met Griffin in an epic clash as finalists of The Ultimate Fighter® (TUF™) Season 1. Griffin and Bonnar will be the tenth and eleventh individuals to be inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame. They will join current honorees Royce Gracie, Ken Shamrock, Dan Severn, Randy Couture, Mark Coleman, Chuck Liddell, Charles “Mask” Lewis, Matt Hughes, and Tito Ortiz.

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA - The Ultimate Fighting Championship® is proud to announce the Official Superfights for Grapplers Quest®, the official grappling tournament at the UFC Fan Expo® on Friday, July 5 and Saturday, July 6 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas

The two-day tournament will feature adult No-Gi submission grappling divisions for Adults on Friday, July 5. Then, on Saturday, July 6, the tournament will feature all-youth No-Gi grappling and all-adult Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Judo Divisions.

The Superfights will feature Grapplers Quest's new 10 minute Submission Only rules with a five minute overtime, if necessary, using Grapplers Quest points.

The much anticipated event features nine blockbuster superfights, including a four-man Pro Tournament.

The Grapplers Quest Superfights include UFC lightweight contender Jim Miller challenging The Ultimate Fighter season five contestant and active UFC fighter Cole Miller in a Submission Only battle.

John Dodson, winner of The Ultimate Fighter season 14, will be challenging Scott Jorgensen in what promises to be a fast-paced Submission Only match.

Four-time Jiu-Jitsu World Champion and UFC/WEC veteran Fredson Paixao will challenge defending Superfight Champion Jeff Glover of Santa Barbara, California's Paragon Jiu-Jitsu.

UFC veteran and local Las Vegas favorite Javier Torres of Gracie Humaita under Mica Cipili will be taking on Marcelo "Lapella" Mafra of CheckMat and the head instructor for Ultimate Fighter season two winner Joe "Daddy" Stevenson.

UFC veteran Ulysses "Useless" Gomez challenges Kristian Woodmansee, an instructor from Robert Drysdale’s gym in Las Vegas.

In the only female Superfight of the Grapplers Quest at UFC Fan Expo, fan favorite Tracey Goodell Fowler, well-respected black belt and the wife of world-renowned Mike Fowler, will challenge MMA fighter from Syndicate Gym Amanda Lucas (5-1 MMA record) of Las Vegas, Nevada.

Finally, A four-man "Ultimate Grappler" superfight tournament will feature some of the world’s top professional grapplers, including Dean Lister (2011 ADCC World Champion), Joao Assis (2012 IBJJF World Champion), Ricardo "Demente" Abreu (2011 World Pro Cup Black Belt Champion) and Kyle Griffin (Oklahoma State Wrestler and Pro MMA Fighter), with official alternate Bruno Bastos (3-Time World Cup Champion). On Friday, Dean Lister faces Kyle Griffin and Joao Assis challenges Ricardo Abreu in the first round of the tournament.
