Winning move to Winspear; MFC to debut at world-class theatre in April
By MFC Staff

The Maximum Fighting Championship's new home is fit for a king. Luxurious, dazzling, and state-of-the-art are just a few of the words that have been used to describe the Winspear Centre where the MFC will make a rambunctious debut on Friday, April 9 with a stacked lineup of fights and a return to broadcast roster of HDNet Fights. The card for MFC 25: Vindication will feature the top fighters in the MFC and a major title fight.

"We had talked about doing shows at the Winspear Centre a few years ago," reflected MFC Owner/President Mark Pavelich. "The wait until 2010 has been worth it. It is truly amazing what our show is going to look like in such a unique and spectacular facility.

"I've heard from so many people about what a great move this is for our organization - to be in such a first-class and gorgeous hall. Some others have asked why we would move to the Winspear Centre - a place that is more known for hosting world-renown symphony orchestras. I tell them to look at the place, and come to the show, and then they will realize first-hand what a gem we have here.

"In 2010, we are taking the MFC to new heights and a part of that is being in the most exclusive venues we can be. The Winspear Centre fits that bill perfectly. The sexiest crowd in sports is now in the sexiest building possible."

The Winspear Centre opened in 1997 and has been recognized as one of the elite performance halls in all of North America. It is a stunning visual upon arrival and the view only gets better when entering the building and the Enmax Hall where the MFC will hold its shows. The MFC's ring will be centered under the spotlights of a stage that has seen such international superstars as Michael Buble, Russell Peters, Dave Matthews Band, Alice Cooper, Buddy Guy, and the Counting Crows captivate audiences.

Four levels of seating - Orchestra, Dress Circle, Upper Circle, and Gallery - will allow for the MFC's outstanding fan base the very best vantage points from anywhere in the building including box seating around and behind the stage. No seat in the Enmax Hall is more than 119 ft. from the stage which will also feature VIP seating at ringside. The sound and lighting package is unequalled amongst theatres. Fans can get an advance look at the set-up by visiting http://www.winspearcentre.com.

"There is no doubt in my mind that fans - old and new - will be amazed when they see the MFC inside the Winspear Centre," added Pavelich. "Live from the seats and watching on HDNet, it will look remarkable."

Tickets for all upcoming Maximum Fighting Championship events including MFC 23: Heat XC on Friday, February 26 at the River Cree Resort and Casino are on sale now. Tickets are available by calling the MFC Ticket Hotline at (780) 504-2024.
