THE FIGHT SUMMIT today announced several items related to its inaugural event:
The deadline to receive discounted hotel rates MUST be purchased by November 30th in order to receive the $39 per night rate. The link can now be found right on THE FIGHT SUMMIT registration page, so rooms can be booked at that rate even if an attendee hasn’t preregistered. Cole Miller (17-4) will now be taking the place of Mike Thomas Brown for the grappling seminar. Brown has been scheduled for a fight, so he is unavailable. Cole Miller has cemented his name as a hungry shark lurking in the UFC’s stacked lightweight class, posting an impressive 6-2 record within the promotion. Already at the brown belt level, his Jiu-Jitsu arsenal is constantly improving at a frightening pace, as evidenced by Miller grasping “Submission of the Night” honors three times: one for his creative kimura lock on Dan Lauzon, one for his triangle choke on BJJ black belt Jorge Gurgel, and the most recent one for his rear-naked choke submission of Ross Pearson at Ultimate Fight Night 22 in September. Renowned MMA sports psychologist Brian Cain will now be holding a book signing for his upcoming book, Toilets, Bricks, Fish Hooks and PRIDE - the Peak Performance Toolbox Exposed, following his morning speech on December 18th.
THE FIGHT SUMMIT, which will take place December 17-19, 2010 at The Flamingo in Las Vegas, Nevada, is the first conference and trade show for professionals in all disciplines and levels of the mixed martial arts community. FIGHT SUMMIT attendees will be able to learn from the best of the best at this exciting event, as luminaries such as MMA legends Randy Couture, Ricardo Liborio from American Top Team, Mark DellaGrotte from Sityodtong, and Greg Jackson will teach MMA trainers how to coach and run their academies better. Other guests include some of the top MMA apparel companies hosting clothing line seminars, and some of the best managers in the sport, such as Ed Soares (manager to Anderson Silva, Lyoto Machida, and more) and Monte Cox (Matt Hughes, Jeremy Horn, and more), who will discuss the ins and outs of MMA fighter representation. Other topics that will be covered include academy management, PR and media relations, handling legal situations, MMA and striking seminars, apparel design, production, and sourcing, promotion marketing, and many other subjects.
FIGHT SUMMIT is poised to be a fantastic educational and growth opportunity for everyone in the fight business. MMA academies, fight promoters, apparel companies, managers, and athletes are encouraged to attend this conference and learn from the best in the business.
Full conference passes can be purchased for $399, with students, police force members, firemen, and military members receiving a $100 discount. Attendees can register to attend at the FIGHT SUMMIT website. “There are a number MMA consumer shows for fans who want autographs and t-shirts, but Fight Summit is the first true industry trade show and conference, where businesses in the MMA community can come together, network, learn from each other, and learn the top techniques of their trade. MMA is a fast-growing, national industry that requires a high-level conference and expo to help its tens of thousands of professionals to grow their businesses and advance their careers,” explains FIGHT SUMMIT Manager Mike Hauben. “THE FIGHT SUMMIT is that conference.”
THE FIGHT SUMMIT floor plan will bring together the full conference and expo in one centralized location, with workshops running throughout all three show days, and the expo floor open throughout all event hours.
Sponsors for THE FIGHT SUMMIT include MMA Business Magazine, Combat Sports International, MMAWebDesign.com, MINDBODY, Inc., and Zebra Mats, and the show is already boasting a very impressive expo floor.
