MMA Reaches Prince Albert, Saskatchewan

Mixed Martial Arts is the fastest growing sport in the world and Ari Taub, 2008 Beijing Olympian and Greco Roman Wrestler, is making sure that fighters from across North America have a safe and high-quality environment to fight in. Hard Knocks Fighting, led by Taub, is the fastest growing MMA promotion in Canada with live MMA events in Calgary, Medicine Hat, Regina, Estevan, and quickly expanding to new cities. The newest expansion will see Hard Knocks Fighting moving into Prince Albert (PA), Saskatchewan. Multiple events in PA are now planned for 2012-2013.

The first PA event - School of Hard Knocks 26 - will be hosted on July 19, 2012 at the Art Hauser Center in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. This event will give local amateur fighters a chance to gain experience in the cage and attracts fighters from across North America.

Hard Knocks Fighting has a reputation of supporting the growth of local sport and community organizations through their live MMA event shows. In the last three shows alone over $50,000 has been raised and either donated directly to local sport organizations and athletes, or directed to community venues like the Art Hauser Centre and organizations like the Lions Club. "I want to make sure that Hard Knocks continues to support the growth of local sport and the communities that we have our shows in so I make sure to incorporate it into all of our events" says Taub, CEO of Hard Knocks Fighting.

Hard Knocks Fighting also wants to support local businesses in these cities. Hard Knocks representative Cord Crowthers says "We've partnered with several local businesses in Prince Albert to bring this event here and we're all really excited to be working with them." Tickets will be on sale mid-April.

Other upcoming events include School of Hard Knocks 23 in Calgary, AB (May 25, 2012), School of Hard Knocks 24 in Estevan, SK (June 1, 2012), and School of Hard Knocks 25 in Medicine Hat, AB (June 15, 2012). Hard Knocks events air regularly on The Fight Network, Go Fight Live, Shaw TV, and Access and attract local fight fans.
