Roufusport Gets PTSD Grant to Aid Vets at Rogue Warrior FC


Milwaukee’s Roufusport will be the initial recipient of special grant to help returning military veterans in their personal war with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Recent studies have indicated that the exercise and camaraderie of active mixed martial arts training can help these warriors deal with their PTSD. The grant will be awarded to Roufusports partners Duke Roufus and Anthony Pettis as part of the ceremony honoring our wounded warriors at Dick Marcinko’s Rogue Warrior Fighting Championships at the Oneida Casino in Green Bay.

“This will be seed money to help Roufusports identify those that can use this type of program and make some training space for them” states the man known as the Rogue Warrior, Dick Marcinko. Commander Marcinko is the bestselling author of the ROGUE WARRIOR series who was also was the founder and first commander of the US Navy’s elite Seal Team Six. Duke Roufus is considered one of the top fight trainers in the world and Anthony Pettis is one of the top lightweight contenders in the UFC. The Roufusport Mixed Martial Arts Academy is ranked among the top ten training centers in the world.

This will just be one part of a great night of professional fights honoring our wounded warriors that will be held on Thursday, September 6 at the Oneida Casino in Green Bay. Several military veterans will be entering the cage that night to fight in support of their wounded comrades. Among those fighters will be two that have been awarded the Purple Heart and one Bronze Star with the V for valor in combat recipient. Many stars from the fighting world of MMA will also be on hand.

They include former UFC Heavyweight Champion - Tim Sylvia, former UFC Lightweight Champion – Jens Pulver, UFC lightweight contender- Anthony Pettis, UFC Feather weight Championship Contender -Erik Koch, UFC Bantamweight Contender - Scott Jorgensen, UFC Middleweight Contender – Alan Belcher, renowned trainer and coach –Duke Roufus, Rashad Evans trainer and coach- Mike Van Arsdale, Seal Team Six Commander and bestselling author-Dick Marcinko ,the Rogue Angels and many more. The Rogue Warrior Championships gives MMA fans an opportunity to meet these stars and join them in their support of our troops and our wounded for this very special night.
