The first fight on the main card will feature four time IFL vet and 1 time M-1 vet Bristol Marunde. He will be taking on four time M-1 vet and 1 time WEC vet Chuck “The Reverend” Grigsby. Bristol Marunde has a professional record of 12-6 and has fought big names such as Rich Attonito, Matt Horwich, Benji Radach, Noah Inhofer, and Shane Primm. Originally from Seattle, Washington, Bristol now resides in Las Vegas, NV and trains at Throwdown Training Center. He is looking to put another big win on his already impressive resume. His opponent Chuck “The Reverend” Grigsby is definitely going to be a big challenge. Standing 6’6” tall, Chuck started his professional career at Heavyweight before moving down to 205 pounds, and now all the way down to 185 pounds; so needless to say Chuck is a very large Middleweight. Chuck has a professional record of 19-6 with one of those fights being under the WEC banner and 4 times under the M-1 banner. Chuck has been battle tested and is looking forward to another good fight to add to his resume.

The second fight on the main card will be between Xtreme Couture coach Kui Gonsalves and legendary fighter Kit Cope. With only 2 professional fights under his belt, Kui Gonsalves has not yet tasted defeat and isn’t looking to have that happen anytime soon. Fighting Kit is a big step up in competition for Kui, but he says he is ready and excited for the challenge and is training very hard with all the top guys at Xtreme Couture. Kit Cope has a professional MMA record of 4-6, but don’t let that fool you, Kit has fought in the WEC, the UFC, Ring of Fire, King of the Cage, not to mention he is a four time World Muay Thai Champion with a Muay Thai record of 23-1. Kit trains with WEC star Scott Jorgenson at Combat Fitness in Boise Idaho, so you know he will be ready wherever the fight shall go. Being from Las Vegas originally, Kit is excited to fight in front of his hometown crowd and try to get another win on his record.

As we start closing in on the Main Event we will get the pleasure of watching three time WEC vet, and 4 time King of the cage vet, Dave Terrel take on Team Tompkins standout “Filthy” Phil Dace. Dave Terrel sports a 6-4 professional record, with three of those fights being under the WEC banner and four fights under the King of the Cage banner. Dave trains fulltime at Xtreme Couture and is anxious and ready to fight here in Las Vegas and try to get back in the win column. Dave also has someone in mind he would love to fight in a future SCC show, watch his video interview for those details… But he will have to get through “Filthy” Phil Dace first, which won’t be an easy task to say the least. Phil Dace is one of Team Tompkins top up and coming fighters, with a record of 6-2 he is ready to keep pushing forward and improving his career. When I mentioned this fight to “The Coach” Shawn Tompkins he was very excited for the matchup and has faith that Phil will get the job done and bring home the win. A win over a veteran like Dave Terrel would definitely be a career boost, so that is what Phil will be looking to do; get a win and keep moving up the ranks. This has all the makings of a great fight!

For the co-Main Event of the evening we will see a fight between John “Guns” Gunderson and Eric “Little Lee” Wisely. With over 40 fights, and a record of 31-11, John Gunderson has fought a long list of great talent such as Enoch Wilson, Charles Bennett, Bryan Caraway, Bart Palaszewski, Wagnney Fabiano, Ryan Schultz, Mark Holst, Yves Edwars, and many more. He has fought in the IFL five times and the UFC three times. Needless to say there isn’t much this guy hasn’t seen. John trains with two great teams; Xtreme Couture as well as Team Tompkins. He is coming off a disappointing loss but is ready to get back to his winning ways and the best way to do that would be to take out Eric Wisely. Eric Wisely may not be a household name yet, but he is definitely a great prospect coming up the ranks. He has a pro record of 11-2 with two of those wins being over UFC lightweight Hermes Franca, and one of the losses by decision to UFC rising star Erik Koch. Wisely trains in multiple locations in the Midwest including UFC vet Spencer Fisher’s gym, as well as the very well known Roufusport Gym, working with legendary coach Duke Roufus. Eric is excited to get to fight on a big stage in Las Vegas and is going to try to make the most of it, and make a name for himself, by taking out John Gunderson at SCC 1.

The Main Event of the night will feature 2 time UFC vet Steve Lopez, he will be taking on five time UFC vet and one time EliteXC vet Justin Buchholz. Steve Lopez has put together an impressive record of 12-4. Two of those fights being under the UFC banner against tough competitors Jim Miller and Waylon Lowe. Steve is an Xtreme Couture fighter and has been training hard with some of the best in the world, and is ready to put on a show and get back on the winning track. That isn’t going to be easy though with an opponent like Justin Buchholz! Justin Buchholz sports a record of 8-6, but don’t let that fool you! He has fought nothing but top competition for the last 3 years. He’s been in the cage against opponents such as Mac Danzig, Jeremy “Lil Heathen” Stephens, Terry Etim, Corey Hill, and Matt Wiman. Training out of Team Alpha Male, Justin has lots of great talent at his gym, including WEC/UFC superstar Urijah Faber. Justin always puts on an exciting fight and will be looking for a big win over Lopez. You definitely don’t want to miss it when these two clash in the middle of the SCC cage!
What do you expect? The comedian is dead.
