Jamie Varner To Fight Lee King at LFC 11
Legacy is excited to announce that former WEC Lightweight Champion, Jamie Varner, has replaced Alex Morono and will face Lee King in a catchweight (160 lbs) bout at Legacy Fighting Championship 11 on May 11 at the Houston Arena Theatre. Morono was forced to withdraw due to an injury. Varner (19-6) has notable victories over Rob McCullough, Marcus Hicks, Donald Cerrone, and is coming off a win over Drew Fickett. Varner had lost his WEC title to current UFC Lightweight Champion, Ben Henderson. Varner is known for his wrestling and boxing, both of which he competed in while in college. 17 of his 19 wins have come by either (T)KO or submissions.
Lee King (16-16) is currently riding a 3-fight win streak. In his 10 year career, King has fought many of the top fighters in the world, including Edson Barboza, Roger Huerta, Sean Sherk, Melvin Guillard, Carlo Prater, and Anthony Njokuani. Lee has been known for having dangerous standup, and has not gone to a decision in his last 14 fights.
Legacy is committed to bringing in world-class talent, and this is just another step. Join us at the Houston Arena Theatre on May 11 for Legacy Fighting Championship, which will also be broadcast live on HDNet!
