Former Hockey Enforcer Takes on Hometown Hero at AFC 19

Aggression Fighting Championship (AFC) middleweight standout KB "Benghal" Bhullar returns to the AFC cage against former hockey enforcer Derek "The Lion" Parker.

Parker has amassed over 45 hours of penalties over his hockey career. Residing in Regina, Saskatchewan, Parker's hockey career has taken him across Canada and the Northern States. He transitioned into MMA late in 2011 and comes to this fight with a pro record of 3-1-1.

Bhullar out of Edmonton, Alberta, comes from a long line of Mixed Martial Artists with a father, grandfather, and great-uncle having success in amateur boxing in India, and a mother with a black belt in Judo. He says of MMA, "I believe this sport is largely responsible for making me who I am today. It has provided me with overwhelming self-discipline and an outlet for my competitive drive."

KB Bhullar has an impressive fan following in Edmonton and especially within his Punjabi-Sikh community. He says of his influence, "I hope I can empower Punjabi youth to practice martial arts." Bhullar is determined to put on a show for his fans, he adds "when it comes to fight time I am always there to put forth an incredible performance. I don't want decisions, I like to finish the fight with knockouts or submissions."

AFC's Matchmaker, Darren Owen, states "Jilted hockey fans who've seen a steep decline in hockey fights over the years will have a chance to see how a hockey enforcer can handle things inside a cage." Owen adds, "Bhullar is gonna throwdown and someone is getting knocked out." Bhullar will come into this fight looking to defend his winning streak of 3-0.

AFC 19: Undisputed will take place at the Shaw Conference Centre with a full lineup MMA bouts in Edmonton on July 5, 2013.
