Kusch versus Scott Middleweight Bout Set for Cage Warriors 58
Former middleweight title contender Pavel Kusch (13-4) will return to CWFC action to take on Chris Scott (6-2) in the first bout to be officially announced for Cage Warriors 58 in Chechnya on Saturday, August 24. Cage Warriors 58 will be broadcast live on Fight Network in Canada, Portugal, Turkey, Angola and Mozambique. Kusch’s last Cage Warriors outing saw him pipped at the post by Chris Fields for the CWFC middleweight belt in the final of the promotion’s eight-man title tournament at CWFC Fight Night 7 in Jordan last September. The 25-year-old Ukrainian, who’ll be fighting for CWFC for the fourth time, has taken all 13 of his wins by submission, 11 of which have come in the first round.
“I am very happy to be fighting at Cage Warriors again and I’m determined to get the win,” said Kusch. “I also want to put on an entertaining fight against a tough opponent.”
Scott will be searching for his first CWFC win, having suffered a unanimous decision loss to Mats Nilsson on his promotional debut at Cage Warriors 53 in Glasgow in April.
Similar to his next opponent, the 30-year-old Englishman has also picked up all of his career wins by submission.
Scott said: “When I signed for Cage Warriors this was exactly what I wanted: big fights against big names, whether that be in the UK or abroad.
“My last bout didn’t go to plan but I can only take the positives from it. For this fight I’ll be a more focused and more confident fighter.”

Brum versus Abiltarov Set for Cage Warriors 58 on Aug. 24
James Brum will aim for his sixth consecutive CWFC win when he takes on Ruslan Abiltarov at Cage Warriors 58. The event, which is set for the Olympisk Arena in Grozny, Chechnya, on Saturday, August 24, will see Europe's fourth-ranked bantamweight face the highly-rated Ukrainian prospect on the main card. Brum (12-2) is currently on a six-fight win-streak, which began in October 2011 when he rebounded from a loss to current UFC star Erik Perez to defeat Martin McDonough. The 26-year-old Englishman, who has since remained unbeaten, made his Cage Warriors debut last year before going on to pick up wins over Leandro Gontijo, Thomas Back, James Saville, Moktar Benkaci and Olivier Pastor.
"I'm really looking forward to fighting for Cage Warriors for the sixth time in my career and I'll be looking to entertain the Chechen fans. I'm excited about fighting overseas again," said Brum.
"My opponent is young, hungry and very confident, which makes him extremely dangerous. But he's never been in the cage with an opponent of my calibre."
Abiltarov (10-1) has been building a big reputation in eastern Europe since making his professional debut just last year and will be looking for his fifth win on the trot when he clashes with Brum. The 21-year-old has taken six of his 10 victories inside the first round and has competed for the M-1 and Pro FC promotions.
He said: "I'm very thankful and excited to be competing for Cage Warriors. It will be an honour to fight at such a high level. I've been training hard and I'll give everything I have to win this fight. I'll be looking to impress Cage Warriors and the fans on the night."
