King of the Cage Concept for 'World Amateur Championships'
King of the Cage, one of the true pioneers of MMA that has performed and broadcasted more events than any other in the true history of the sport of mixed martial arts, announces the premiere of "World Amateur Championships," to be held at Palms Casino Resort in October 2013. Details about this unique concept will be made public at a press conference on Tuesday, June 11, at 1 p.m., inside HERAEA, the all new American restaurant and sports lounge that offers enticing cuisine, energetic music and state-of-the-art sports viewing.
"The event focuses on taking the most unique, skilled and flamboyant amateur fighters from around the globe and helping them with the transition of taking this on as a full-time professional career," says Terry Trebilcock, owner and CEO of King of the Cage. "We wanted to do something groundbreaking that is entertaining, interactive and has never been done before. The concept we will announce on June 11 adds a very interesting element to the entire sport."
The "World Amateur Championships" are Saturday, Oct. 19, from 6 – 10 p.m. at The Pearl inside the Palms Casino Resort. Tickets start at $54, plus applicable fees, and will go on sale immediately following the press conference.
