Fletcher versus Newman Set for BAMMA 13

The UK's Premier Mixed Martial Arts promotion, BAMMA, is proud to announce that Colin 'Freakshow' Fletcher is set to face Tim Newman in a Lightweight square off at BAMMA 13, which takes place at Birmingham's National Indoor Arena (UK) on 14th September. Tickets are on sale at http://bit.ly/1bUZXbR.

Sunderland's Colin 'Freakshow' Fletcher has recently signed up to a multi-fight deal with BAMMA following a spell in the UFC. He competed on the TV show, 'The Ultimate Fighter: The Smashes', and then at 'UFC 158: St-Pierre vs. Diaz' to go the distance with Mike Ricci concluding in a decision loss.

The Lonsdale sponsored fighter returns to BAMMA with a record of 8-3-0. Having made an instant impact on fans at BAMMA 8 for his scary clown attire and vicious fighting style, Fletcher last graced the BAMMA cage at BAMMA 9 when he scored a compelling victory against Jason Ball. Ball had come in fresh off a neck-to-neck boxing bout with Chris Eubank Jnr and the fight notably saw Submission specialist Fletcher out-strike the striker, picking him off with kicks for three rounds.

Newport's Tim 'Super Human' Newman comes into the fight with a record of 10-3-0, comprising victories over respectable competition and losses against tough opponents. With wins by both Submission and Strikes (including Knock Out), and a record that boasts both first round finishes and the ability to go the distance, Newman is a well versed MMA athlete. Newman's last appearance at BAMMA saw him lose on unanimous decision to BAMMA Lonsdale Lightweight champion, Curt Warburton ( 'BAMMA 8: Manuwa vs Rea'). Newman currently sits at 9 in the UK MMA rankings, one place above Fletcher.

BAMMA's Head of Talent Relations, Jude Samuel, said:

"The return of Colin will again inject some additional colour into the UK MMA Scene. His experience overseas will be a test for the experienced Newman who is on a win streak and has added some new skills to his game since last fighting on BAMMA. Tim will not be phased by 'La Cirque du Freakshow' and will make this a fight an epic battle. Freakshow looks to redeem his recent losses and Newman hopes to establish himself as a BAMMA main card draw and continue to rise in the UK rankings."

Warburton versus Murphy Set for BAMMA 13

The UK's Premier Mixed Martial Arts promotion, BAMMA, is proud to announce that its BAMMA Lonsdale Lightweight champion, Curt Warburton, will step up to fight for the BAMMA World Lightweight title against Jake Murphy at BAMMA 13. With World Light Heavyweight and Welterweight titles also on the line that night, BAMMA 13's Night of Champions takes place at Birmingham's National Indoor Arena on 14th September. Tickets are on sale at http://bit.ly/1bUZXbR.

Curt 'The War' Warburton comes armed with a catalogue of notable wins on his 12-3-0 record, most famously against Ross Pearson. Warburton fought three times in the UFC before facing and defeating Tim Newman at BAMMA 8. BAMMA 10 presented Warburton in a World Lightweight title contenders match against Lee Wieczorek, in which he delivered his second BAMMA victory. When World Champion, Rob Sinclair, withdrew injured from their slated BAMMA 12 title bout, Warburton went on to face Steven Ray for the prestigious BAMMA Lonsdale British Lightweight belt to win on decision.

Jake Murphy fights out of Jackson's MMA in the United States, where he trains with some of the sport's brightest stars, including former BAMMA competitors Tom 'Kong' Watson and Erik Perez. Coming from a college wrestling background, Murphy holds a record of 6-2-0 and is on a four fight winning streak. This fight marks his second venture into the BAMMA cage: Murphy last appeared at BAMMA 9 alongside team mate, Tom 'Kong' Watson, where he put in a dominant performance against David Round. He submitted the Brit via Rear Naked Choke in round 2.

Curt Warburton said:

"I'm looking forward to fighting for the world title and the opportunity to win against a really strong opponent. Having already been crowned BAMMA Lonsdale's British champ, I now look forward to being crowned BAMMA's World Champion too."

Curt Warburton will be relinquishing the BAMMA Lonsdale British Lightweight title.

Harry Mcleman (4-2-0) debuted at BAMMA 12 fresh off an impressive first round victory over Sam Mensah via Rear Naked Choke. Faulkner vs. Edwards, Wilde vs. Martin Added to BAMMA 13 Prelims

The UK's Premier Mixed Martial Arts promotion, BAMMA, is proud to announce two further preliminary fights to the BAMMA 13 fight card showcased at Birmingham's National Indoor Arena on 14th September: A Welterweight clash between Dave Faulkner and Leon Edwards; and a Lightweight face-off between Tim Wilde and Stephen Martin. Tickets are on sale athttp://bit.ly/1bUZXbR.

DAVE FAULKNER VS LEON EDWARDS [WELTERWEIGHT BOUT]

David Faulkner ( 4-1) is best known for taking part in The Ultimate Fighter: United States vs. United Kingdom. He was defeated by Frank Lester in episode 9 after refusing to participate in a sudden victory round declared by Dana White. With his first four professional MMA fights taking place before 2008, Faulkner's one loss was against Dean Amasinger in 2007 when he was disqualified for an illegal Heel Hook. Faulkner wasn't to return to the cage until April 2012 when he beat Danny Welsh by first round Rear Naked Choke. He followed up this April with a first round Armbar victory over Clayton Vella. Training out of HAMMA in Liverpool, Faulkner has Catch wrestled since the age of 11 and is a powerful grappler with two WKMF world titles in submission wrestling.

Birmingham's Leon 'Rocky Edwards,' comes with a Professional MMA record of 4-1-0, having been undefeated at Amateur and Semi-Pro over 7 fights. The one loss on his record comes from a DQ for an illegal knee. Edwards faced Jonathan Bilton at BAMMA 11: Marshman vs. Foupa-Pokam in December 2012 and scored a victory via TKO (Knees) just 1:11 in to round 2. Edwards hails from the West Midlands and fights out of UTC.

TIM WILDE VS STEPHEN MARTIN [LIGHTWEIGHT BOUT]

Derby's Stephen Martin boasts a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Winning the 2007 blue belt juvenile gold at the World Championships, he has medalled at nearly every World Championship since. In 2012 he also claimed gold in the Europeans, won second place at the Pan Ams and third in the Worlds. Martin has two professional wins and no losses on his MMA record, winning at Sunderland's Strike and Submit 3 years ago by Triangle, and at AON 5 on 29th June by Armbar. Martin was scheduled to fight Jefferson George at BAMMA 12, but George weighed in heavy at 162.6lbs, against Martin's 154.6lbs. Jefferson was given one hour to make weight but failed to do so and the fight was cancelled. Stephen Martin fights out of Derby MMA.

Fighting out of UTC, Tim Wilde brings a Professional record of 1-0-0. He was undefeated at Amateur with 3 1st round finishes by TKO and Submission. His debut fight took place at Lionheart FC 2 where he won by Rear Naked Choke. Wilde is a tenacious competitor, with a reputation for an aggressive striking style. Coming from a Karate background, Wilde was reputedly disqualified from a world championship contest for too much contact. Wilde also trains and spars at the Rough House.

Wilde commented: "I'm excited to be fighting on BAMMA and the rest of the country will see what I'm about. My opponent seems to be someone who trains hard and is very skilled on the ground. I truly believe that, being a Jiu Jitsu wizard, he will be after the take-down. I don't think he has the minerals to want to stand with me so I'm predicting he will run away and look for a take-down. I am spending loads of time Ground 'n' Pounding some of my BJJ Black belt friends and my wrestling partners. The fans can expect a fast paced explosive fight – Don't blink!"

The UK's Premier Mixed Martial Arts promotion, BAMMA, is proud to announce a Middleweight bout between Jorge Luis 'Michelan' Bezerra and Scott Askham to the BAMMA 13 preliminaries for Birmingham's National Indoor Arena event on 14th September. BAMMA is also proud to announce a Middleweight bout between Ion Pascu and Jack Marshman to the BAMMA 13 preliminaries. BAMMA 13 will be broadcast live on Fight Network in Canada.

Jorge Luis "Michelan" Bezerra hails from Brazil and has attained an 18-9-0 professional record since debuting in 2005, with 15 of 18 victories scored in the first round, mainly via submissions. Representing Check Mat in Brazil, Bezerra boasts a black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

Doncaster's Scott Askham holds an 11-0-0 record, with his first 8 professional wins secured between 4 seconds and 2:48; and the majority of those conquests via TKO. After defeating his first top-ranking challenge in Denniston Sutherland, on decision, Askham debuted on BAMMA for BAMMA 12 where he defeated Harry McLeman by Rear Naked Choke. Askham comes fresh off a victory over BAMMA's former Number 1 ranked British Middleweight, Jack Marshman.

"He has good BJJ but so do I: This is MMA and it starts standing! MMA has changed since the days of style versus style and you have to be good everywhere, which I am. I'm also hungry for the BAMMA World title."

Romanian, Ion Pascu, comes from Bucharest and fights out of the Ministry of Martial Arts and Golden Glory with a professional record of 6-3-0 and half of his victories by TKO. Pascu has fought across various European promotions; and is currently on a two fight winning streak on the back of British fights this year, which resulted in a 2:20 KO win against Matt Robinson and a second round Doctor Stoppage against Hakon Foss.

Serving paratrooper and former BAMMA Lonsdale British Champion, Jack Marshman, brings a record of 12-3-0 as he returns to the BAMMA cage. Murrie vs. Arish, Missin vs. Saadeh Added to BAMMA 13 Prelims

The UK's Premier Mixed Martial Arts promotion, BAMMA, is proud to announce a Welterweight bout between Wayne Murrie and Ali Arish, and a Flyweight bout between Danny Missin vs Rany Saadeh to the BAMMA 13 preliminaries. BAMMA 13 takes place at Birmingham's National Indoor Arena on 14th September with tickets on sale at http://bit.ly/1bUZXbR. Both Arish and Murrie have signed to exclusive multi-fight deals with BAMMA. BAMMA 13 will be broadcast live on Fight Network in Canada.

Murrie vs Arish

West Yorkshire's Wayne 'Mayhem' Murrie holds a record of 16-5-1 and boasts a history of tough clashes against experienced opposition. With 12 of his fights ending in the first, Murrie has equally shown he can go the distance against names that include John Maguire and Peter Irving. With victories via KO, TKO and Submission, Murrie has defeated around half of his opponents via an array of Chokes. Murrie comes from a decorated Thai-boxing background and is currently ranked #11 in the UK and Irish MMA rankings.

Iranian born Mancunian, Ali Arish has earned a record of 20-2-0 against challenging competition. Arish has notched up 9 victories in the 1st round via KO, TKO and submissions; and 10 via Unanimous Decision, proving that he can also dominate over the distance. Arish is currently ranked #7 in the UK and Irish MMA rankings. The former Kaobon competitor now fights out of Moss Side GnP.

The fight marks the second time Murrie and Arish have faced off, as Arish previously defeated Murrie in a title contenders bout at OMMAC 10 in 2011, by first round KO. Murrie is hungry for revenge.

Arish said: "I am really looking forward to ultimately fighting for the BAMMA British welterweight belt. BAMMA is a great show to compete on and to show the world my skills. I have fought Wayne Murrie once before and he is a fantastic fighter. It will be an honour to step into the cage with him once again."

Murrie said: "Although he has a good level of BJJ, this is MMA & he is in the way of me getting to the top of this sport."

BAMMA's VP of Talent Relations, Jude Samuel, said:

"This could potentially be fight of the night. With Ali and Wayne signing long term deals with BAMMA, they both have a massive future with the organisation and plan to make their mark. Defeat for either of these guys is no option and especially as Wayne is looking to avenge that defeat and wipe it clean from his record."

Danny Missin vs Rany Saadeh

Danny 'Mini- Hulk' Missin enters the BAMMA cage with a fight record of 4-1. The West Yorkshire fighter has finished all his winning bouts before the third round until his first loss on decision to Huseyin Garabet. The Flyweight currently ranks at #19 in the UK and Irish MMA Rankings and the majority of his wins have come via Submission.

German Rany Saadeh matches Missin with a record of 4-1. With the majority of his victories via strikes (TKO and Submission to punches), Saadeh's last outing saw him claim the Made 4 the Cage title against Shamsul Haque as a late replacement.
