Throughout the night of the event, ROAD FC occupied all top ten search results in both Naver and Daum with over 1,000 entries - new records for ROAD FC in Korean mainstream media!
In the Main Event, the Inaugural Featherweight World Championship Title was contested between tournament finalists Kwon Bae-Yong and Choi Mu-Gyeom for an exciting back-and-forth three rounds to a Majority Draw. Kwon was very strong with takedowns while Choi used the prone position to hunt for submissions. A fourth round was asked for from the judges and Choi rose to the occasion, earning the Split Decision victory and the Featherweight World Championship belt was placed around his waist.
Former Lightweight Contender Kume Takasuke gave the harshest welcome to ROAD FC to Brazilian Top Team's Eduardo Simoes in the first all-foreign match in ROAD FC. Kume heavily dominated all three rounds against the Brazilian black belt with a superior display of strength and position on the ground.
Former ONE FC Champion Kim Soo-Chul made a spectacular return to his ROAD FC home in Korea against UFC veteran Tezuka Motonobu. Kim wasted no time in attacking Tezuka with striking and clinching. In just under two minutes, Kim knocked down his more experienced opponent and pounded on him until the referee signaled the finish.
Korean prodigy Jo Nam-Jin gave an amazing performance against decorated SHOOTO Champion Yamagami Mikihito. Jo did not allow Yamagami's striking to be a factor as he shot for takedowns and used his superior wrestling to control all three rounds.
IKF Champion Kim Nae-Chul completely surprised Gladiator Champion Noji Ryuta with heavy hands and a very aggressive attack. Kim kept the pressure on through the first round. In the second, Kim's heavy hands caused a lot of damage and finally dropped Noji at the very end of the round.
In a special Lightweight Superfight, famous comedian Yoon Hyun-Bin made his professional MMA debut against Takaya Tsukuda of Japan. Takaya stunned Yoon several times with strikes, then Yoon came back with a perfectly timed right hook that knocked out his Japanese opponent.
All five fights on Young Guns 11 showcased the next wave of tough Korean fighters who are climbing their way up the ranks to compete in ROAD FC numbered series events.
In other news, Lightweight Champion Nam Yui-Chul formally relinquished his Championship Belt to ROAD FC CEO Jung Moon-Hong. Nam will make his debut in UFC on 3 March, 2014 in Macao, China.
