Cage Warriors Inks Brit Andrew Fisher to Multi-Fight Deal
The Cage Warriors Fighting Championship featherweight division continues to grow stronger, following today's addition of English star Andrew Fisher. Fisher (12-6-1), who's currently ranked seventh in the UK, has penned a five-fight CWFC deal, which will see him compete exclusively for the promotion over a minimum period of 18 months.
The capture of Fisher means that of the six non-UFC signed featherweights in the UK's top-ten, four are now signed to CWFC, with Fisher joining Graham Turner, Chris Fishgold and Alex Enlund on the roster, in addition to the likes of Robbie Olivier, Nad Narimani, Martin Svensson, Dave Hill, Jean N'Doye and Arnold Allen.
A native of Sunderland, Fisher has taken all but one of his 12 professional wins by stoppage, holding notable victories over the likes of Gavin Sterritt and Shay Walsh. The 28-year-old, who joins Cage Warriors following a two-fight stint with Bellator, hasn't been stopped in his last 11 outings, a run that extends back to July 2009.
Fisher said: "I'm really looking forward to finally fighting for Cage Warriors. It almost happened a few times in the past but now I know that the time is definitely right."
