ROAD FC Signs Dong-Sik Yoon, to Debut July 26 at ROAD FC 16
During Japan's heyday of Mixed Martial Arts, Yoon Dong-Sik (41, Team YOON) was a premier Korean fighter known as the "Armbar King", whose signature move was called the "Dongbar". Yoon has now contracted to fight with ROAD Fighting Championship.
Yoon was a multiple international Gold Medalist in Judo and a Bronze Medalist at the World Championships before he transitioned to Mixed Martial Arts. He made his debut in PRIDE alongside the world's best Middleweights, and fought some of the best Light Heavy and Heavyweights, such as Sakuraba, Melvin Manhoef, Rampage Jackson, and Murilo Bustamante.
Yoon made his successful return to MMA last year, bringing his winning streak to three in a row. Now he will continue his comeback in ROAD FC 016 in July in Gumi, South Korea. His opponent will be one of Asia's strongest Middleweights and is currently in negotiations. ROAD FC's Middleweight Champion Lee Eun-Su has been sidelined with an injury for a long time. Yoon's introduction will give the division a very exciting boost.
Meanwhile, ROAD FC 015 takes place this coming Saturday, 31 May, at the Chiak Stadium in Wonju, South Korea. The Main Event is a highly anticipated rematch between two of the best Featherweights Seo Doo-Hwan and Joachim Hansen. Also featured: UFC veteran Issei Tamura will meet former ONE FC Champion Kim Soo-Chul, and Park Jung-Kyo will take on the inimitable Minowaman.
