Sara McMann to fight at Battle Xtreme Championship

Olympic Medalist, Sara McMann, to Compete in MMA Cage Fighting Event at the Mass Mutual Center


The fight card for Battle Xtreme Championship’s MMA event at the Mass Mutual Center on June 16th, is stacked, with top tier fighters in all 9 scheduled fights. One of the main bouts features Olympic medalist, Sara McMann, the first American woman in history to receive a silver medal in women’s wrestling at the 2004 Summer Olympic Games in Athens, Greece. “I’ve had a fighting spirit my entire life,” says Sara McMann.

McMann wiill take on Anita “El Tigre” Rodrigues in a grueling battle for the 135lb women's weight class. Both women have five wins each with Anita just coming off a decisive loss at Bellator. “These are exceptional fighters and this bout is sure to be an incredible show,” said Fernando Rivera, Battle Xtreme Championship president.

Other fights on the Battle Xtreme Championship card include top level, UFC, WEC, Bellator, Bodog, Strikeforce and IFL vets including the main event, which will feature Brazilian and American Top Team fighter Rafael “The Law” Dias vs. Ran Weathers.

Tickets to this event go on sale at Ticket Master on May 4th, and the event is slated to begin at 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 16th, 2012. Doors open at 6 p.m. A public weigh-in is set for 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Friday at the Mass Mutual Center and an after party celebration will follow.
