XFC Inks Corey Hill to Long-Term Deal

Just months after making his debut with the promotion, Corey “The Real Deal” Hill has come to terms with the East Coast’s largest MMA promotion, XFC, on a long term contract. A deal that could give Hill a future title shot with the quickly rising promotion. John Prisco, XFC President & matchmaker, who has added numerous fighters to the roster already in 2012, disclosed the signing early this morning.

Hill, who is best known for his appearance on TUF 5 & stellar showings in the UFC, suffered one of the most gruesome leg breaks in MMA history, in 2008. Almost 13 months later he was back to full strength, in even better condition, and made his debut at XFC 15 with a win over fellow TUF contestant Charlie Rader. It took Hill only minutes to finish off Rader with a Brabo choke, just before the end of round 1. The performance proved Hill, now 33 years old, is still one of the top competitors in the welterweight division.

Now ready to make his way to top of the MMA world, Hill signs a multi-year / multi-fight contract with the XFC; further urging the promotion to begin their divisional title shots in 2013.

As a 2-time Florida State Champion and College National Champion finalist, Hill’s strength is found in his wrestling skills. At 6’4, his length also gives him a sizable reach advantage over most competitors in the welterweight division. XFC President John Prisco is confident that Hill has what it takes to be at the top of the Welterweight division. “Hill is one of the best welterweights around. His record doesn’t show how good he really is, but he never turns down a tough fight. I’m excited to have added him to our roster, he creates a tough match up for a lot of guys and he’s definitely one of the most entertaining fighters I’ve seen,” said Prisco. “We’re going to keep him fighting and make sure people get the chance to see how great of fighter he really is.”

As XFC cranks up out more and more shows each year, their beginning to double their roster. Hill is one of many “next generation” fighters that the promotion has added to its full time roster of fighters in 2012. In addition to his XFC 19 : Charlotte Showdown opponent Undefeated Jason South, the XFC has also added Josh Samman, Scott Holtzman, Dustin West, females Heather Jo Clark & Sofia Bagherdai, & Open Fighter Tryout Winner Joby Sanchez.
