Super Fight League Signs Monson, Ishii, Sokoudjou, Page
Super Fight League (SFL) is proud to announce the signings of: Jeff Monson, Satoshi Ishii, Rameau Sokoudjou and Michael Page for four fight exclusive deals.
India's top MMA Organsiation, Super Fight League continues to add to its impressive fighter roster with this second wave of signings, adding to its current stable of fighters which includes; Todd Duffee, James Thompson, Paul Kelly, Trevor Prangley and Professor X.
Jeff Monson
Fighting out of American Top Team, UFC Heavyweight Title Challenger and vet of DREAM, PRIDE and Strikeforce Jeff 'the Snowman' Monson (46 - 13- 1) is considered one of the world's top grapplers. Two-time Abu Dhabi Combat Club Submission Wrestling World Champion and No Gi Brazilian Jiu Jitsu World Champion, Monson also holds the Heavyweight titles in the International Sport Karate Association and the Strength & Honor Championship. A BJJ Blackbelt and submission artist, Monson also holds a Masters Degree in Psychology.
With victories over Roy Nelson, Sergei Kharitonov, Mark Kerr and Ricco Rodriguez, Monson is an impressive addition to the SFL Heavyweight division.
SFL CEO Ken Pavia said: 'Jeff has achieved a high level of success fighting all over the
world. We are very excited to add him to our roster and test him in our elite HW division. He is always entertaining and is one of the true personalities of the sport."
Satoshi Ishii
25 year old Japanese Olympic Judo Gold Medalist Satoshi Ishii is one of the most popular sports figures in Japan today and joins the stacked SFL Heavyweight division alongside Monson, Duffee, Thompson and Lashley.
Ishii said: 'I'm excited to be a part of SFL. I expect great performances from myself and I am ready to fight.'
Having trained at American Top Team, Xtreme Couture and Blackhouse, Ishii holds a 5th Dan Black Belt in Judo and boasts notable wins over Minowaman and Jerome LeBanner.
SFL CEO Ken Pavia said: 'With an Olympic gold medal in Japan comes the burden of not being able to walk the streets of Tokyo without being mobbed. His popularity coupled with his work ethic, drive, and his track record for success are the reasons SFL so aggressively pursued Ishii. We are honored to add him to the roster as another exclusive fighter.'
Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou
A former KSW Light Heavyweight Champion fighting out of Team Quest, the 'African Assassin' Rameau Sokoudjou (12 - 10) will be looking to make an impact at SFL.
WEC, PRIDE, UFC, DREAM and Strikeforce vet, decorated Judo champion Sokoudjou has notable wins over Jan Blachowiz, Antonio Rogerio Nogueira and Ricardo Arona.
Sokoudjou said: 'I am excited to have found a home in a major organization. SFL has put together some talented fighters. I see explosive fights in my future!'
SFL CEO Ken Pavia said: '"There has never been such a thing as a boring Sokoudjou fight. We are in the entertainment business and he personifies entertainment. As many have found out, he has one and done power so don't blink. I can't wait to see him in his October debut with the SFL.'
Michael Page
British based Welterweight kickboxing champion Michael Page (2 - 0) has made a huge impact in his short career, being dubbed the UK's Anderson Silva due to his unconventional fighting style. One of the UK's most promising young fighters, Page is an exciting addition to the SFL roster.
