Superior Challenge 8 - Card Updates
Bielkheden-Parisyan Booked for Superior Challenge 8
Karo Parisyan is the first MMA athlete who managed to implement Judo techniques successfully in his fighting style. The Armenian-born American succeeded to achieve his dream in 2004 when he qualified for the U.S. Olympic team in Judo, but he got a contract proposal from the UFC at the same time, which he chose instead. During the seven years that he competed for the organization (1 bout at WEC), he accomplished wins over fighters such as Shonie Carter, Nick Diaz, Chris Lytle, Matt Serra, Nick Thompson, Drew Fickett, Josh Burkman, and Ryo Chonan.
He was considered one of the foremost talents in his weight class but knee and back injuries put an end to the advancements of his career. Karo has fought two bouts per year during the past two years, which is a great achievement when you consider the rehabilitation of his injuries. But now he is ones again focused on his career and tired of all the negative rumors that have circled around him. The 29 year old is known for his Judo throws and aggressive fighting style. He is also very open with expressing his thoughts about people that he does not like. The WEC champion, Olympic Judoka, and UFC veteran "The Heat" is hungry to win and will not let anyone stand in his way. He wants to silence everyone who has doubted him.
On October 6, he will be standing face to face against David Bielkheden at Malmö arena in Sweden, as the Co Main Event of the evening. David will encounter his career’s perhaps most important bout. A win over such a big name as Karo will give him a huge push in the right direction. The Brazilian Top Team / Hilti fighter will have his trainer and coach Murilo Bustamante in his corner.
Babak Aghavali, CEO Superior Group International - I'm very glad to announce this bout at Superior Challenge, here in Sweden. David is incredibly charged and prepared for this fight, and I've never seen him so focused before. Karo is a fantastic athlete, a tough guy and a very experienced fighter who will do everything in his power to win. This is one of Superior Challenge’s greatest match-ups and I can not wait until the fight night.

Makela-McSweeney Set for Superior Challenge 8
Matti Mäkelä has a tough opponent in James McSweeney at Superior Challenge 8 on October 6th, at Malmö Arena in Sweden.
The Englishman James is best known from The Ultimate Fighter. He started practicing kickboxing in early years, and moved to Thailand when he was only 15 years old in order to focus 100% on his Muay Thai training. The young fighter competed frequently and successfully for several years. James started with MMA in 2006 and began competing in the sport the year after. In 2008 he came in contact with Rashad Evans and helped him prepare for his bout against Forest Griffin on December the same year. During 2009 he was chosen to become a TUF competitor, and he became quickly one of the most promising contestants but he lost the semi final bout against Roy Nelson. Yet, he signed a contract with the UFC, and he has during his professional MMA career managed to gather a record of 10-9-0.
The hometown fighter’s record is almost identical 10-10-0 at the moment, but it will change soon. The Swede has a bout against Joachim Christensen a month before the fight against McSweeney at Superior Challenge 8.
Babak Aghavali, CEO Superior Group International - Matti Mäkelä vs. James McSweeney will probably be the most dramatic bout at Superior Challenge 8, on October 6th, in Malmö, Sweden. Both athletes are outstanding stand-up fighters, and brawlers who likes to stand and exchange punches rather than being tactical or defensive. These are two aggressive bulls that will collide, and I don’t think the bout will last for three rounds. It seems to be an action packed bout from the initial second, and it will end up in an orgy of strikes, knees and kicks. It definitely has the potential to become The Fight of the Evening.

Re: Superior Challenge 8 - Card Updates
Mawlayi-Round Added to Superior Challenge 8
Malik, "The Natural Born Killer" Arash Mawlayi against David "One More" Round. The hometown favorite fighter faces his toughest opponent to date, the Englishman Round at Superior Challenge 8, on October 6thin Malmö.
Round (6-7-0) is a Kick Boxer with a black belt in the discipline, which naturally influences his MMA fighting style. Welshman has won five of his wins by TKO by punches, and he has managed to finish all his six wins in the first round. The 26 year old has an entertaining and aggressive fighting style, which suits the Malmö fighter perfectly.
Mawlayi (3-3-1) is a complete all-round fighter, both good at stand-up and on the ground. He is originally a grappler, but after several years of training with Ole Laursen, and after a number of Muay Thai buouts in Thailand, he now also masters the stand-up game. Malik is a fearless and tough fighter who likes to put on a show. He dares to be an entertaining fighter for the audience and he always delivers 100 % during his bouts.
Babak Aghavali, CEO Superior Group International - Personally, I’m a big fan of Malik and his fighting style, he is tough fighter who always aims for finishing his opponents. He is matched against David "One More" Round on October 6th, which is an explosive stand-up fighter with dangerous punches. This is certainly a very interesting match-up and one of the bouts that I really look forward to.

Akhtar-Gontijo Added to Superior Challenge 8
Martin Akhtar challenges Leandro Gontijo. A classic matchup between the striker Akhtar vs the grappler Gontijo at Superior Challenge 8, on October 6th in Malmö, Sweden.
Spanish Leandro (3-4-0) is a very experienced grappler with a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Gracie Barra. He started with MMA three years ago, and fought his first pro fight the same year. The 33 year old hasan impressive win in pro MMA, over one of the world's perhaps top MMA grapplers Artmij Sitenkov, which should be considered as proof that he can implement his knowledge of grappling successfully in to MMA.
Martin (1-0-0) is a tough and technical stand-up fighter with years of experience as a Thai boxer. The former K-1 fighter has competed successfully in Muay Thai and Kick Boxing bouts during his active years as a prominent stand-up fighter. Recently he started to compete in MMA, and he delivered fireworks when he finished his first opponent by TKO in the first round of his debut fight.
Babak Aghavali, CEO Superior Group International - A traditional Old Scholl MMA matchup between striker vs. grappler. Both these fighters have jumped on to MMA from two completely different types of martial arts. Two athletes who are champions in two different martial arts disciplines will compete against each other in order to show the audience whose skills are superior. This bout demonstrates MMA from the sport’s original form, and displays why the sport has conquered the world in such a short time. It will be really interesting to see Martin take on a grappler on Leandro’s level.
