LW fight dropped to 3 rounds
Challenger Carlo Prater has let a golden opportunity slip through his fingers.
The Brazilian missed the 155-pound target at the weigh-in for MFC 22: Payoff and will not be allowed to fight for the MFC world lightweight championship against reigning title-holder Antonio McKee.
The fight will go ahead as a three-round, non-title fight and as the co-main event to the middleweight showdown between Jason "The Athlete" MacDonald and Travis "The Serial Killer" Lutter.
"I'm extremely disappointed in Carlo. It's not acceptable to miss weight any time, but it's a gigantic mistake to miss it for a title fight," said MFC Owner/President Mark Pavelich.
Lutter had no trouble with the scale as both he and MacDonald registered at 185 1/2 pounds. Their clash will headline the show which airs live throughout North America on HDNet Fights.
